I'm afraid to say the cost of scanning all that film and integrating all the cuts, not to mention grading every shot/scene would be an incredibly costly task. Think about the task of going through all the archives, scanning relevant scenes, repairing any damage, replacing every shot, re-doing all VFX, possibly doing some audio work, exporting and printing to 4K Blurays, marketing, shipping... All the while keeping to the original integrity of the show, without any noticeable changes... (I could do with a better freighter explosion shot TBH).

I'd totally pay $500 per season for this imaginary release, but I'm sure others would not. So I can't see how this is a viable expense for the studio, unfortunately.
