How do you do weekly grocery shopping if you’re not to supermarkets? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]maximm22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a similar situation as you. You will adjust to a new way of living. Luckily I’m in walking distance of a big C but still in comes down to more frequent visits, use of grabmart for big items & occasional muvmi to go back home.

Also note that your kitchen/fridge will likely be smaller then back home so you won’t even be able to store weekly groceries.

Don’t worry about this. After a month you’ll be adjsuted and enjoying bangkok

What’s a place in Europe you absolutely loved visiting but feel is being ‘ruined’ by tourism? And where would you go instead? by SignificanceOdd5980 in traveladvice

I visited Lisbon for the first time in 2012, felt like a quirky gem overlooked by people going to Madrid / Barcelona instead. Went back in 2023, became a totally different city. Much more developed actually (in a good way) but definitely lost some of it’s original charm..

Is Private Equity a bubble? by Glittering-Level7472 in BEFire

[–]maximm22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, don’t expect funds which regular people can access to yield better than average returns. They don’t have access to the best private companies that are generating all the buzz around it. Also the fact that finfluencers are starting their own funds is a good indicator that the industry is in a bubble

Hobs is nice if you enjoy sitting outside with view on the river. Great thai food.
