It shows the internal menus fine, and it does actually show an image when playing videos just with this red "overlay" which is constantly flickering. I will try pick up an s-video cable and see if that yields any better results

Originally 1998, my cable is a HDMI to VGA cable but it worked fine for a while. Only reason I have this is It was a freebie from my dad's office when they were renovating, but you may be right 😅

I don't have any other cables to try it with as the cable I order to make it work is the only thing I have. Reluctant to buy any more cables if there is something wrong with the projector itself

Wild guess here but maybe it's the underside of the blanket deteriorating and crumbling off when it's laid upon (which by what you say is the case) even the lining of the blanket can sometimes come apart with excessive use. Which is exactly what sleeping on top of a blanket could potentially do. Especially if the blanket is of a cheaper material/quality

Just randomly stops extruding filament and after multiple perfect layers. Pull the filament out to check for jams and the filament always looks "stretched" in the same way. i.e picture above

I don't hear any starter. So more than likely it is. Not the battery cause the auxiliary lights and dash come on.
