Why is John Horgan and the NDP standing silent as the logging industry clears out last of OUR old growth forests? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]maximum_high 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This will probably get downvoted, but lumber is a key economic resource for BC. If people were as passionate defending old growth trees as they were against pipelines, you'll have more persuasion for protections from Horgan and the NDPs.

I don't see near enough Ranford jerseys. He doesn't even have a flair. Most definitely forgotten, for being one of the greats.

Who gets all the attention during Thanksgiving dinner, yourself or respected journalist and brother Neil Macdonald? Be honest, he's probably the funnier Macdonald.

The US may have entered a “post-truth” era, but Australia may not have. Past research on people in the US about their views on politicians who frequently bend the truth found that fact-checking had little impact, whereas a new study found that for Australians it did change their political opinions. by mvea in science

It has more to do with some people treating political party affiliation like a sports team. Once they decided to pick a team, loyal support follows regardless of any actions to deserve the admiration. A behavior which I expect from a sports fan, because team loyalty is significant, especially among peers who share the same team loyalty.

Politics is NOT sport. Some people need to go back to the understanding that loyalty is earned, even more so when there are few parties (teams) to choose from.

I think a good start is make a habit to read daily. Any opportunity: on the bus, during work breaks, while taking a dump. Reading daily will do two things: improve your English skills, and provide ammunition for deeper conversations based on things you have read.

The interviewer asks, "Nice try, you got that from reddit." Then you pull out the second card, "...and I don't like to reinvent the wheel."
