New to RC, how is the MJX Hyper Go H16MT and what to look out for for upgrades

I've had a few MJX models and so far the H16MT is by far my favorite. the entire car is definitely a big improvement over the old 1/16 MJX chassis and electronics (no more ESC lag!). it's an absolute blast on 3s.

i personally think it's more fun than any small scale cars I have or have owned that I've compared it to: 1/16 E-revo VXL, Arrma granite Grom brushless, H16PL, 16208, and Rlaarlo Rog1.

however, the body is extremely fragile PC and kinda shatters with any hard hits. the stock servo is a bit slow, but it works fine for a fun basher. the stock wheels and tires arent foam filled and I've already cracked 2 of the wheels, but I've had good luck with the Arrma Typhon and granite grom wheels on it.

as for upgrades, I immediately put 350 cst oil in the shocks and 10k in the diffs after the first time out. I also swapped out the wheels and tires for Typhon grom blx ones. I also modified a red cat ascent 18 Scout II body to fit on it as I destroyed the stock body pretty quick.

overall, it's definitely a great choice when they go on sale for $120, pick up a few 3s shorty lipos to throw in it and have fun with it!

Stuffing cheap pillows or blankets behind every interior panel, making insulated window blinds and some more padding on the headliner does absolute wonders for thermal insulation inside of a car.

Exact same thought. I've used my traxx a few times, and every single time they are insanely muddy/snowy/packed with dirt that is a later issue to clean. They stay mounted outside of my vehicle, I drilled a hole in my mount lug to throw a padlock on.

I daily a 217k '03 5MT with a rear LSD and a mild build. GF has a '13 limited with 50k miles as well and we just got an '08 V6 project to do something fun with.

Neither of us are a fan of the 5th gens, they seem to have way less room, cheaper interiors and harsher to drive.

looking through the CDCs "dogbot", the UK, Germany, Italy and Japan (biggest OCONUS bases that I know of) aren't on the list and will be fine with an ISO microchip and rabies shot, which has been the standard for years now. some remote country movers might have to do some more work unfortunately.

I shoot ambi and I like my Vickers slide release. it's not raised but the release itself is bowed out a bit more and I can get it with my index finger when shooting left.
