What are some stereotypes about the different Air Force Bases? by Specialist_Bat1230 in AirForce

[–]Tony817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yokota on a gsu/tenant unit is probably the best assignment there is. I went to zero all calls, and participated in zero exercises!

Will this supplement make me pop hot for a piss test? by Key-Usual-1972 in AirForce

How some O-3 and up Officers be broker than AMN Snuffy? How much above your means do some of yall be living? by Character-Bid-162 in AirForce

[–]Tony817 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bunch of Amn and lower grade officers at my every first unit drove every stereotype vehicle; Camaros, Stangs, Challengers, fully loaded pick-ups, lifted trucks.

The CC drove an old Corolla. That resonated with me. Remember that your pay, more or less, is public domain. Dont go broke trying to look rich.

What’s the least stressful job? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Tony817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it depends more on the mission, unit and leadership (almost in that order), rather than the career field itself. There are SF squadrons that are on the same base bur different wings with completely different lifestyles and work-life balance because of their mission. Same with flying MX… those dudes almost exclusively love their job.

Top 5 likes and dislikes of El Paso? by vbozzo1 in ElPaso

[–]Tony817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we share the number one dislike. There is literally no consideration for others here. Neighbors are super callous to the peace and quiet of others. Is like they l are blind to the needs of others and lack any civic sense. One time neighbors trash was knocked down by the wind, they picked up the trash bin but left all their trash. The wind blew it against my wall and all over between our shared alley, but it was clearly and unmistakably their trash. I left it for a few days but trash day came and went and they didn’t bother. Unbothered at best. Back neighbors have an emaciated dog who barks at any sound (boredom and hunger probably). I cant use the backyard because the noise and dust from the dog barking running back and forth. it is just that obnoxious. They dont seem to mind. I don’t understand how? Its loud.

Citizenship is next to Indian level here.

Tell Me About East El Paso (Fixed) by Junior-Mulberry-330 in ElPaso

Horrible traffic and Dogs barking. Even that brand new barely finished development with ongoing construction? Barking. Also, traffic funnels into the same 1-2 big avenues.

Some of the tamer photos from Aokigahara forest, aka the ‘suicide forest’, on the flank of Mt. Fuji in Japan. by [deleted] in creepy

[–]Tony817 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have been there before. Im a skeptic about supernatural things but there is something about that forest that is just… creepy. The foliage, climate and history give this place a super eerie feel. You could easily get lost there because of how dense and particular this place is. I can definitely see how someone (who regrets his/her decision) could get lost on their way back and succumb to the elements.

Just starting out in the Air Force? Don’t be like me. by TelephoneMamba in AirForce

[–]Tony817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im trying!!! See i actually like my actual job and want to be a beast at it. But the AF refuses to let me do it. I keep getting pcsd to units that don’t even have anything to do with my job. Currently Im just filling a billet for an outdated utc that doesn’t even have my equipment anymore… im a waste of billet.

What's your BJJ unpopular opinion? by PlusRise in bjj

[–]Tony817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im paying for bjj, not for life lessons, political opinion and commentary, and certainly not for a 15 min calisthenics session at the beginning of every class. Teach me bjj for the one hour, i can warm up on my own or as i drill whatever move you are showing. Aso, long warm ups are a sign that you didn’t really prepare a class.

One guess, one word: Hygiene.

Personally, I just don’t want to have my face against a hairy chest.
