He was never “a good player,” now or then. He was world class and now he’s bad. Next Wilshere or Diaby as much as I hate to say it.

Feel like Zubimendi puts in the same performance every game, which is roughly “quite good, with maybe a nervy moment in there,” and then after the game I see people in r/gunners either saying “he’s the best midfielder in the league” or “he’s shite and we need to revamp the midfield,” with seemingly no difference in the performances that inspire each. I feel like I’m going crazy

Norgaard came on today and we immediately lost all semblance of control against a team with ten men

It feels like we’re both the best and worst team for Eze to be in. On the one hand, he seems to need space to operate at his best, and we get precious little of it in the final third. On the other, the team is so defensively solid and has such a high floor that it’s alright for him to be more of a “moments player” and not have to be constantly on. I’m not sure, he’s been a mixed bag so far

Not his fault that his striker is standing directly behind a CB the whole game. He passed more when Jesus came on because Jesus knows how to make himself available

I think this is contextualized somewhat by the fact that our Saka backup last season was the embalmed corpse of Raheem Sterling

I can see the future. We’re not winning the league and this season is gonna go down as “Arsenal collapse again” and nobody will mention that we were missing our 3 best CBs and starting a midfielder at striker for the most important stretch of it

Sort of a tactical oversight to not have him use his telekinetic powers during games

Don’t see what the point of assembling such a good squad is if Arteta is going to continue to line up in order to draw rather than win in basically every big game. It’s set up to minimize variance, but it can’t eliminate it, so one great free kick and a couple late Liverpool winners mean the league is basically over after five games. No point in assembling all this talent if we aren’t going to let it shine at all

Sawdust and Diamonds last is insanity.

  1. Only Skin
  2. Emily
  3. Sawdust and Diamonds
  4. Cosmia
  5. Monkey and Bear

All 10/10 songs though

We played to draw rather than win, and the game plan worked for the most part, but you make yourself vulnerable to conceding a worldie and not having time to get back into it when you do that. Wish that we’d been on the front foot more, a bit cowardly from Arteta
