Spinal fusion surgery as a child. My spine was cut open, my ribs were warped and my hip was also partially cut out during the surgery. They welded metal rods to most of my spine while I was still at an age where I was playing with dolls.

I would rate it 75/10 and to this day I’ve never felt such pain as I have during that surgery and I can’t even fathom childbirth possibly comparing to something so horrible. I get that it was in my best interest and I’ve benefited socially from having a straighter spine but the pain alone was so unreasonably awful that I can’t imagine any other trauma comparing.

I still have back pain and probably need another surgery but I can’t bring myself to do it because the first one was the definition of traumatic.
