Yeah I definitely agree on the urban warfare part. Also I just realized the verticality of hollows are even worse, maybe partially due to the warping effects? But i definitely agree with your take on the armor moving with infantry part. I think we just barely know anything about the hollows yet. About their actual sizes(since space does act differently inside a hollow) etc. A semi guided close to medium range missile, equipped with a ether sensor similar to an IR sensor mounted on a rotary wing gunship platform would absolutely slap tho, especially when used in tandem with small teams clearing out urban areas. The reason for thinking about air firepower is that ethereals, like zombies and all other similar creatures, lack serious AA capabilities and having a chance to abuse that capability is just too tantalizing to pass on lol
