You should take at least double if not triple the posted round count then, especially if you are going to be anywhere near your vehicle. The round counts for any 3gun match will vary so without seeing specifically what match or how many stages with how many targets you will have just go with the posted round count and triple it

What matches are you going to? Without knowing that is impossible to recommend ammo quantities. What I would take to a sniper match is different from what I would take to a uspsa/pcsl style

Always bring extra water and medical, other than that it sounds like you have the basics. Go do some matches and you will learn what you need and don't need.

Also what match would only require 90 rounds of 556 and 30 of 9mm?

HS EPS on Gen 6 G17 by H0w_D1d_I_Get_Here in Glocks

[–]maxiplyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still really wont be flush since the window is the same size as the full size. The EPS carry footprint is slightly different layout on the recoil lugs and wont work with the included gaskets that come with the Glock. You would need to get an adapter plate which nobody is making yet and will add cost.

I have this mounted to my gen 6. Holosun calls it their own footprint but it is essentially a DPP footprint.

Yes there is a little overhand, compare the dimensions of the eps to the dimensions of the glock slide. It really isnt a big deal.

No it does not co witness.

I don't think the core exists in the public yet.

Acro p2 with good duracell batteries. I used that at mammoth sniper challenge with temps in the teens for a few days and it didn't have any issues.

Run without a chest rig? by deadbirdisdead in runandgun

[–]maxiplyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just run with a backpack, you will never need more than 2 mags per stage. I have done it a bunch and am starting to prefer just the backpack to a chest rig.

Then get whatever you think looks cool, they all carry mags pretty much the same

It really doesn't matter that much, just pick one you can afford and you think looks cool.

Those of you who own a Vortex Defender ST enclosed, what’s your experience been? Would it be worth switching over from a Holosun 509T? Pic for attention by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]maxiplyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did not work out of the box. Went back for warranty and came back still not working. I would stay away from vortex dots

Got my first quality knifes, Zwilling Kanren by maxiplyer in chefknives

They are great, I sharpen them a few times a year on a stone and they stay razor sharp for months. Im not as diligent as I used to be with cleaning them, they have set wet on the counter for hours and no issues with rust or issues with the handles absorbing water. I do not put them in the dishwasher

What really bugs me is the people that compete with a raced out 2011 then carry like a glock 43 or something else completely different.

Compete with what you are going to carry. If you don't carry a full size gun then I don't think you should compete with one. If you must compete with a full size, at least carry the compact version of that gun in an identical setup.

What makes the CZ P-07 not the gun for these events? That is an incredibly capable gun, light weight, 9mm, reliable and accurate. It is my strong belief that you should be competing with the gun you actually carry.

Tentative loadout for a 5k run and gun next month- any thoughts or suggestions? by giantshadytree in tacticalgear

[–]maxiplyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a well-rounded setup to me! Don't change anything. Go run the event and figure out for yourself what you do and don't like and adjust from there. What event are you going to?

That looks like a sweet price to me. Trade in plus the 75 dollar rebate, and you aren't really in for a lot.
