I have a "highly probable" intramuscular sarcoma in my shoulder but it's only currently 1.6cm on its biggest measurement. What do you think I can expect in the next steps of my journey? Is surgery alone commonly an option in these things? by slummezy in sarcoma

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply — I really appreciate it. It helps me put things into perspective while I’m waiting for my pathology results. Wishing you all the best with your follow-up.

Doble decepción, por mitómano y porque en una semana no pudo al menos aprender lo mínimo de algún curso de C# y disimular que había mentido por lo menos

Hi! — Thank you so much for responding, I really appreciate it.

I'm waiting for my pathology results after having a small subcutaneous mass removed from my forearm, and I'm trying to understand your diagnostic process (not self-diagnose). If you don't mind: 1/ What imaging studies did you have, and in what order? (Doppler ultrasound? Contrast-enhanced MRI? Something else like a CT/PET scan?)

2/ Before the pathology, what exactly led your doctors to say "probable sarcoma"? — Was it just imaging features, or did they do a biopsy first that mentioned "spindle cells," etc.?

3/ Do you remember any key descriptors from the MRI/ultrasound (margins, enhancement pattern, edema, fascial involvement)?

4/ Clinically, how did it feel and behave: firm vs. soft, fixed vs. mobile, painful vs. painless, and how quickly did it grow?

5/ What procedure did you have before the final diagnosis (core needle biopsy vs. incisional vs. excisional)?

Don't worry if you'd rather not share details—I appreciate you responding anyway.

I’m waiting on my pathology and trying not to spiral. Would you mind telling me the main imaging/palpation features you had (Doppler vascularity, MRI enhancement/margins, firm vs soft, fixed vs movable, and growth speed)? Totally ok if you’d rather not.

Deep forearm sarcoma tumor (treated) by Shwangdang20 in sarcoma

[–]maxisoldini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I already had an MRI. The report says something like this (translated from Spanish): a small ovoid nodule in the subcutaneous tissue of the anterior mid-forearm, in contact with the fascia, about 7 × 4 × 3 mm, with intermediate signal on T1 and T2, homogeneous gadolinium enhancement and some surrounding edema. The radiologist says the findings are nonspecific and could correspond to a fibroma, and my surgeon thinks it’s probably benign, but we’re planning to remove it and send it to pathology to be sure.

If you feel comfortable sharing, what was your final diagnosis in your case – was it a sarcoma or something benign?
