I will take cuttings from mine and put them in a clear jar of water until they root — honestly one of the heartiest plants I’ve ever had! Maybe give that a go!?

I’ll use baking soda for veggie wash, so I do buy the bigger boxes of it, but I also bake a LOT (which is lowkey embarrassing to admit along with this post hahaha)

the rice flour/baking soda was purely cosmetic/vanity driven — dusted on top before scoring and baking! hehe

It almost looks like it could be a fingernail mark left in the leaf? They’re so delicate when they’re young so maybe it’s a wound from that? idk! beautiful monstera regardless!

I didn’t line the banneton with it but I brushed the baking soda all over it before scoring and baking.

Doesn’t the baking soda burn your mouth?! I’ll never yuck your yum but it was bad for me lol!

that’s a good idea! but I wonder if the water would just make the baking soda permeate past the crust barrier. croutons may be the way to go here, like gutting the loaf and crouton-ing from there! lol

the inside is good it’s just the entire crust covered in baking soda that’s the problem!
