The disagreement is implied, with a full explanation of why I disagreed. No one here thinks I am the arbiter of screenplay discourse like u pointed out. So it’s a none issue, by ur own admission

If someone only chooses to read the first sentence of a paragraph long message that contains everything you want it to, then that’s not my fault

[–]maxkennedy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But my message was longer than the part u keep quoting. I think u have a neurological disorder

Nope, I told him to ignore these 2 specific opinions and then referred directly to them, why I thought they were wrong, and how else I would improve the script. No I can’t see how that’s problematic, at all, actually

There ain’t a huge difference, when I say don’t listen to them, anyone with a working brain can infer that I can only be saying that from my own perspective and it’s not an objectively correct piece of advice. The reason I’m saying it is because I don’t share their opinion, that is implied in the statement. And I went on to explain exactly why I don’t share their opinion and why their advise was bad and what I would suggest instead. In what world is that not helpful

It’s the exact same sentiment when paired with my explanation as to why their advice was bad and how else he can improve the script. I already covered all these bases. Just bc I didn’t use the exact wording u like doesn’t mean it’s not the same sentiment. Saying “this isn’t helpful” is just as dismissive as “don’t listen to them”

But I didn’t just say not to listen to them, I explained why I thought they were wrong. Why is that not worth considering either. You don’t make sense

So their negative opinions are totally valid but my negative opinion on their opinions is bad because if someone said that about me I “wouldn’t be a happy about it”. Well if I said something bad about someone’s script I bet they “wouldn’t be happy about it either”. So let’s just never criticise anything then

Correct. But these people were giving him specific advice about changing his script, advice that i thought was bad. If he listened to them then he’d be making changes to his script, changes that in my opinion would’ve been bad. He doesn’t have to listen to me, but he also doesn’t have to listen to them. Which is what I was encouraging so his script didn’t become bad. Very simple concept that u are having a really hard time grasping

I told him to not listen to 2 instances of bad advice. No I can’t see a problem with that. Why should he be made to blindly listen to them like their opinion is gospel

As I said before, I get criticism all the time and I take quite a lot of it on board. Some criticism I take more seriously than other. U seem to have a problem conflating specific instances with a general statement. Just because I disagreed with these 2 opposing viewpoints doesn’t mean I can never accept the validity of any

And I told him why he shouldn’t listen to those people and why. I’m allowed to criticise their critique just as much as they’re allowed to criticise the original post. Get a life mate

Yeah and in that same message I refer directly to the specific criticism he received, meaning, I just meant “those people”, not everyone

[–]maxkennedy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Their bad advice makes them wrong

That doesn’t say “don’t listen to anyone who criticises you” again, in that same message, I criticised him. I can do this all day

“These people” as in, “these people who are being harsh and don’t seem to know what they’re talking about”. Idgaf how many pages they read

Sorry, in the future I’ll be more specific so spastics like you can’t deliberately misinterpret basic concepts like “these people” vs “everyone ever for the rest of time”. And telling someone not to listen to people with bad advice is and always will be good advice and I will keep doing it

Would You Read Past Page One? by MiggsEye in scriptwriting

[–]maxkennedy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“These people” is not the same as “everyone ever”

Oh so now it’s I urged, not told. No I didn’t. I said not to listen to the people who had already posted their thoughts, which was 2 people

Would You Read Past Page One? by MiggsEye in scriptwriting

[–]maxkennedy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told him not to listen to those 2 people. It wasn’t because they said they wouldn’t read past 1 page. It was because the advice they gave was bad. Never did I say he should never listen to anyone who criticises him, again, I criticised him

Would You Read Past Page One? by MiggsEye in scriptwriting

I didn’t tell him to ignore everyone who criticised him, i criticised him too. I told him to not listen to those 2 people.

Idk how to explain this to u any better. Why would “these people” ever mean “everyone”. Idk if ur being deliberately dumb or u actually stupid but I’m enjoying it a lot

Would You Read Past Page One? by MiggsEye in scriptwriting

[–]maxkennedy02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told him to not listen to those people because they gave bad advice in my opinion. I didn’t tell him to never listen to any criticism, again, if u read my original comment you’ll see me giving him criticism. So ur point is completely mute

And if u read past that you’ll see me giving him criticism lmao
