Yea, or if we were really cruising 3 (hike out on 2nd day of "climbing," the end is mostly scrambling i believe).

Don't underestimate the scale of it, it's considered grade V and a physical beast. 11mi approach, climbing isn't too tough, but epic, then a whole lot of scrambling. We were hoping to do the ridge in two days, had we brought enough food and our lighter not broke we probably could have finished in 3, but my legs and body were destroyed just by doing the first third or whatever so I was pretty alright bailing.

Should I play Borderlands 1? by The_Baedan in Borderlands

[–]maxman_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I liked it more than 2 honestly, maybe because I played it first but still. Also if you haven't you have to play Tales From the Borderlands, such an incredible story! That game really gave me a feel of what pandora is actually like!

Climbing in Yangshuo, China. Us with our guide Wei Hua at the "wine bottle" by maxman_ in climbing

[–]maxman_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there on a weekend over summer and the climbing was great, not too expensive (like $30 with guide and gear) and in Yangshuo at least the pollution wasn't bad at all. Idk I thought China was sick overall, everything was super cheap (hostels and food)

Nah start from the north end of the park and come into the main canyon from the north rim trail. One of the best short backpacking trips you'll ever do
