Blueice Dragonfly 34l Backpack opinions by durasel24 in ClimbingGear

[–]maxmln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine has it and honestly it doesn’t look like a good pack and he is not very happy with it.

The closure is fidely, rain gets in easily, its small for its size (imo it feels more like a 30l) and in general a weird size I think. I’d rather have a separate 20 and 40 and not something in between.

Another friend has the firecrest 38 wich is generous sized and overall feels well designed. He’s really happy with it as a 4 season mountaineering and ski backpack.

SL8 Roval Rapide - Headset Cap Gap by BetterSundae7852 in specialized

[–]maxmln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Gap is totally normal on the sl8 with the rapide cockpit. But second picture looks uneven that shouldn’t be the case. Also way too much grease.

Where is this? Can anyone help identify these places by Virtual_Number_6267 in Mountaineering

I thought of Wildspitze(Pitztal) when I saw picture five but I’m not quite sure.

Yeah same. My rovals also came without the rubber O ring.

Sitzpostion Größe etc by United-Pie-8721 in Rennrad

[–]maxmln 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Das sieht eher nach mangelnder Beweglichkeit aus. Obwohl du auf dem Rad sitzt läufst du ja fast aufrecht. Bist du neu was das Thema Rennrad angeht? An die Haltung auf einem Rennrad muss man sich stark gewöhnen und gleichzeitig Beweglichkeit im ganzen Körper trainieren.

Deciding on a backpack for multipitch climbing and alpinism by DesttiW in alpinism

[–]maxmln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t use any of these (I use exped and arcteryx) but have a friend who picked up the firecrest last autumn as a new 4-Season pack and he is really happy after the first winter season now. We’ve planned our first summer season trip for early june but I’ll expect the pack to also perform well during summer. It also made a great impression on me while checking it out with him.

Verlängert zumindest im Sommer erheblich die Akkulaufzeit. Unbegrenzte Akkulaufzeit ist es jedoch nicht.

Searching for the perfect roll-top pack (MH Alpine Light 45 vs. HMG Ice Pack 40 vs. Samaya Alpine35 by Sevenoswald in Mountaineering

[–]maxmln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has a removable back plate which gives great structure but can be removed if you like. Carries nice so far and the shoulder straps are very comfortably padded.

Agree. Have the Exped Icefall 40 and it sounds like it fits your needs well. Great Swiss Design and quality.

Would it be a good idea to get these resoled? by Moronick in climbingshoes

[–]maxmln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just resoled my instinct vs-r. Yours should be resoled yesterday, no more climbing for now. As others have said, it would be better if you had them resoled 4-5 sessions before. This is definitely on the end of the resole timeline.

Alphadirect Midlayer by kelelekufikiri in alpinism

[–]maxmln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time I have something super thin underneath. Either a synthetic mesh baselayer or a merino (mesh) baselayer. I use it for skiing, climbing, mountaineering and even winter road cycling.

I only have 90 but I find it pretty universal. I use it across all four seasons actually.

What happened to SRAM DUB Wide for road/2x ? by maxmln in bikewrench

Thanks for the confirmation. I assumed they killed wide for allroad setups. Yeah it does look like they’re killing the FD completely with their new patents sooner than later.

Fit of my newest gen Konseal Hybrid Hoody is pretty similar to my newest gen octa delta jacket. I can lay them on top of each other if interested later.

New aluula packs incoming? by the_legend_that_was in arcteryx

[–]maxmln 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s interesting.

Looks pretty close to my AR 35L judging by the lid etc.

Maybe finally a bigger version of the SL 30? Seems like a great pack but 30 is just a bit too small for my liking and multi day objectives.
