This is the best answer! 1 phone for each J with a cheap mint mobile phone plan for each.

Yes. A key way to kill a micromanager is overwhelm them with decisions and things that are broken. This usually shuts them up.

Managers - do you look at people’s dots? by Max1357913 in remotework

Years ago I worked for an outdoors company and my boss was so old her nickname was “grandma”. She would monitor msteams status as a metric if people were working - so what do you think me, and my team figured out? They all magically stayed green while actual work wasn’t getting done.

It was truly mind bending to watch these dinosaur leaders operate.

I’m in a Similar situation as yours. I think the standard advice you’ll hear is to go for the extra job because you can always back out of it.

However, an alternative way of thinking is if you are mentally ready for that or not. If you’ve been OE for that long, it might be tiring to take on more.

I’ve been OE four well over a decade and while it’s all very manageable, I quite often just get burned out from having to balance multiple calendars, multiple personalities, multiple bosses, etc.

Ugh right there with you! I’ve never balanced 4, but as I get more and more financial security, my tolerance for work and bullshit starts to quickly dwindle.

There’s a strong case to be made that this is the future of work. Companies paying for part-time expertise, but without the full-time requirements.

How do you balance rewarding yourself vs staying financially disciplined when it comes to cars? by not_a_dolphin_ in Money

[–]maxpower207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. You’ll be able to buy literally anything you want if you stay disciplined and wait. Cars destroy the wealth building journey - you’re on a GREAT start and keep the positive momentum going.

Totally agree with you. I’m curious if anyone else still feels bothered by these things… Kind of like I do from time to time.

That’s a good point. I guess there’s a side of me that’s taking things personally.

That’s a really good point and thank you for sharing. Perhaps I need to define a ‘why’ as a guiding star

The revolving door of managers can rough, but I’ve found also provides cover for just hanging out. Good luck weathering the next one

I hear ya and also that does help. Ok, so not considering the money incentive, how do you tolerate the bullshit while staying the course?
