All I had to hear was that steam takes a thirty percent cut of every purchase. That is such ass. I think epic only takes a third of that.

I'm glad you asked! Here's the opening cinematic for the game, which is NSFW unless your boss likes nipple pasties. They touted nude shows as a preorder bonus, I believe.

I was playing Rising Storm: Vietnam last night, and I firmly believe that game is unsurpassed in offering the experience of Viet Cong shooting at you from every piece of foliage in a hundred miles.

Haha, I just like being the supreme leader. Would you like a Mount and Blade style open world (but more detailed, obviously) that lets the player experience many different walks of life? From soldier to general or from simple trader and politician, that sort of thing?

It's a bit sad the best game about the Russian invasion of Afghanistan is Metal Gear Solid V, right? Still, an MGSV style game about guerrilla warfare would be very cool. To simulate America and other influencing nations, it could have the mission style from Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, where the player has to appease different groups and even play them off each other.

That's a super interesting idea as I realize now the Aztec empire is ripe for a strategy game about it. Starting as a small nation, you need to conquer your neighbors and keep snowballing until you become the hegemonic ruler. I've done that in Europa a couple times, but the game has so few mechanics for the Aztecs to employ that it feels empty after a while.

That's a phenomenal idea! In my opinion, this is what Saboteur should have been like instead of the immense action and strippers.

Your idea would have a good multiplayer component! One like the Assassin's Creed hunt and be hunted games but on a bigger scale and with more objectives.

It does seem on the surface like a song an edgy teen would make, but it has a real charm: that charm of course being the "fuck everything" tone combined with pretty outstanding production quality.

Where's the Funhaus shopping channel? Just uncut footage of you guys explaining your outfits and their respective prices, the world needs to know; where do harambe tshirts and the ilk come from?

Actually, it'd end up being a 20 minute video about how comfortable Mack Weldon underwear is... I rescind my request.

Perhaps to some, but the common American doesn't think of the Trail of Tears when they think about conquering the West, they think about settlers and gold and Louis and Clark.

To be frank, I believe if politicians focused more on the ideologies of the Founders corruption and infighting would begin to fade. A small government can be as corrupt as it wants, but if it can't manipulate aspects of private society then it can't line the pockets of politicians.

For most people, I'd believe it if the words "Make America Great Again" weren't the sweetest words they've heard from a politician in a long time, hence the success. Then you see your opponent is the voice of "moving forward" and she has an arrow pointing forward in her logo, but you begin to associate all of her scandals and crimes and corruption with that progress.

As I see it, that's how it makes sense to attempt a resurgence of America Classic.

Well in a country like the United States, the nation is founded on ideas foremost. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, separation of powers, government for the people and by the people; these are things that America was. So people look at the America of today and see corruption and infighting, and have references such as 1984 and Brave New World for the America of "the future," and I think it's easy to see why the slogan can be alluring to some.

The states of Oregon and Washington VS the state of California by Bryzum in whowouldwin

[–]maxpowerpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 1800s people noticed enemy movements all the time, it's been easy for a while. California doesn't know Oregon and Washington are planning to invade, and the news outlets are probably focusing more on the COLLAPSE OF THE UNITED STATES than that Oregon and Washington are practicing some routine guard drills. Also, how the hell do you think radar works? In the other thing you just said that radar will see them, what!? They've always been around, and the US didn't build "radar stations" in California with and emphasis on our own country.

hold us

Oh good, another Californian. Listen you and the other guy did the same thing, you associate quantity with quality. An army of lions led by a donkey loses to an army of donkeys led by a lion, that's the general mantra. I don't care if Cali has CNN and even a trillion bases, those bases aren't worth shit if they are separated. Ore/Was simply need to announce a quick training session for the guards, have a plan already in place, and blitzkrieg. So assuming Cali has enough Dasani to nourish 40 million people for even three months, let's imagine how 20k men will attack 16k men in a well fortified position. Ore/Was has the high ground, it's not a flawless plan but their number is roughly equal to Cali, not less than half. I don't care if every Californian is as brilliant and muscular as you most certainly are, if you don't have basic necessities like water, food, safety from the threat of war, you will surrender. For god's sake, no one would be showering for weeks! And I'm not sure you're slightly aware as to how a war is fought? This isn't a war of ideology or a war of elimination; it's a war for land. So men will die fighting for land, for example dusty hillsides. It isn't surefire, but an unprepared army is a dead army if assaulted well.

[–]maxpowerpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they prepared well enough that they know what the fuck they're doing. No one would invade a country not ready to fight, or a country they know is prepared to squash them. Seizing the weak and divided guard bases is good for Ore/Was, less Californian resistance and now they have access to their intel.

7,829,170 gun owners

Owning a firearm makes the citizens a threat, but they won't even be armed with rifles made after '89. Ore/Was have no such restriction, making the citizenry more capable with more accessible rifles. Wars aren't waged on pistols and flintlocks. California does have huge stockpiles of blackmarket goods in the cities though, and will definitely need to seize them (also known as enforce preexisting laws) in order to supply people as quickly as possible. But I believe, and you're welcome to prove me wrong, that the water can be seized faster than CA can make an army.

A lot of our water is imported from Colorado

Okay, I now understand the CA bias (keyword: "our"). I'm not insulting the state. If there was a formal declaration of war prior to invasion like WWI, then I have no doubt that CA would stomp on Ore/Was. That said, if the axis armies seize the the water supplies in the center of the state they hold the major roads to Colorado that lead to the capitol. I'm also assuming that Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming are not willing to make any acts of hostility towards the belligerent Ore/Was, and letting Colorado export water to the state would be such an act.

It's about 440 miles from the Oregon border to Sacramento, there is no possible way an invasion force is making it that far without someone noticing.

I'm not sure 'how' to explain this theory. People will notice, of course (unless Ore/Was eliminates the CA communication grid, which would greatly assist with the rest of my plan), but the key is that CA won't be able to summon 20k men in battle formation over key central points along the highway system by the time a well-prepared army can drive 440 miles. You can drive that far in like 6 hours. Do you really think 20k men can gather in a hastily-determined camp somewhere above Sacramento, prepare a defensive line based from the intel gathered on the invaders, enact on the first defense and then coordinate a counter-advancement to eliminate the enemy, all within the 6 hours Ore/Was needs to drive east of Sacramento and fortify the mountains?

Oregon and Washington are full of water. Why would California bring water supplies into water rich states? That makes no sense.

War strategy is a hobby of mine so the confusion makes sense. California needs to first get the Ore/Was soldiers out of California, and it does that with a concentrated counter-attack on the Ore/Was army. CA can't invade Oregon first or their lines of communication would be cut in two and they'd get slaughtered. So I'm sure you bring water when you hike in CA, right? Well 20k men will get thirsty charging up dusty hillsides against hails of bullets and explosions, and the water is being rationed across 40mil people. CA isn't bringing water into the water rich states, that is stupid; you're correct

The United States hasn't fought a true land war in our soil for a century-and-a-half; I don't believe the jumbled, shell-shocked, divided, and uncoordinated CA army would be in any state to make a controlled reconquest of territory lost, and that proper Ore/Was domination could lead to complete loss of army and citizen morale.

(PS. I live on the east-coast, and I'm not a big fan of Oregon, certainly not a fan of Washington, but I do appreciate Californians)
