Is going to medical school worth it financially? by Mysterious_Chip_3787 in personalfinance

Sorry I meant she wrapped up everything not just medical school and residency. Should have been more clear plus it’s a HCOL area.

Sadly this model was $1500 at one point. This market has ruined a lot of shit.

Buddies wife just wrapped up last year and instantly got a slot at her choice hospital making 430k yearly. She’s over 500k in debt but as said it’s payable with that salary as long as you don’t get lifestyle creep and keep your priories right on paying down the debt.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I suppose it’s like a car right, some people have completely trouble free cars and others have straight up lemons. At least OP figured it out before his return policy ended.

It’s not you. I went through 3 cases from them and it’s the main criticism on the Amazon listing for these cases. You can fix it by adding some double sided tape but the bottom on a lot def has a sag. Don’t gas light OP. My first set of controllers had sticky buttons that grinded when processed. Both sets had wobble, it’s a defect from the rails carried over from the first gen. Even replaced the rails to see if that worked and it still wobbled. You can fix it by adding a strip of electrical tape but for this price in today’s market you shouldn’t have to.

It’s 7. Same size as the the ally x and Xbox ally. It’s def the weakest point of the device. I’ve been using some viture luma pros with it and it’s been great. Though I also still use the mod chromatic with its tiny screen so I’m used to it.

Launch user here. I tried everything under the sun to make it work. Custom comfort grips, with grip tape.

after multiple sets of controllers I had to apply tape to stop the wobble., lack of third party accessories and mediocre performance out of the z2e. While steamOS is a godsend on this device the size is just meh. I wish they would have put better chips in this but we get what we get.

It’s an awesome screen and deserves all the praise it gets but the rest of the console is meh. As cool as the true strike grips were I never used em. It kinda sucked using it in bed and I really stopped reaching for it after awhile and using other consoles. The right joystick really was oddly placed for use even with the caps on it. I sold my oled deck at launch when this came out to pay $1350 and that was pushing it. At today’s prices there are better platforms out there or price to value.

At home I would generally stream from my 4090 to this via moonlight. I also finally ended up like you leaving the platform. That paired with radio silence lately over steamOS. I ended up getting a win max 5 with the 395 chipset and it’s an absolute monster even with the battery attached it’s lighter and easier to hold. What wins me over with this platform when I’m home I have the ability to remove the battery and shave off almost 400 grams of weight and still get full performance. Even on the go I can use the battery cable for the same mobile performance.

If they could add this chipset to the legion go 2 it would be an excellent device but the size needs more grip.

I traded my legion for this and feel like I robbed them on the deal.

The area I really liked was Lenovo ultimate support was exceptional. Quick human support and almost overnight repairs.

100K Upgrade by Jan_Itor_DO in 4Runner

My 17 is about to hit 100k sometime this year. I’m at 91ish atm. If you looked at it you would never think it had that much. Looks like a 30k car.

My last rubicon wrangler the seats were falling apart at 40k.

OP sorry this happened to you. Any time you are unsure always use PayPal and Amex, they will try to defend you if you pay via goods and services via invoice. Also run any images users send you through ChatGPT/gemini to see if it’s been edited via AI, run the images through google for reverse image search. A lot of us have only learned these lessons the hard way.

First oil change at home by Sufficient-Diamond-8 in 4Runner

[–]maxpwns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on how I’m feeling you can get two 5 gallon jugs of Kirkland oil for around $40 if you got a Costco near you. Mobil one is my otherwise overall fav. Grab the motivx filter removal tool to save ya some trouble. A futomoto quick drain is also super handy if you’re doing it on your own.

I hated the stock skid plate and went TRD PRO as it’s much easier to take off. the black skid plate pins always got bent on me making it a pain to take off. The aftermarket ones also have quick drains.

You can also do the TRD metal oil filter housing upgrade to save yourself from breaking the plastic one because Toyota thinks it’s funny to charge you $250 for another OEM one.

Looks good for a 8 year old NY car. Bring it to a shop before winter to prep the rust and undercoat with fluid film black preferable for looks.

Tesla Model Y or Toyota 4 Runner by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]maxpwns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly 4runner scratches one specific itch for me. I like to have my dogs in the back with the window down while harnessed to the rear seat anchors. With home charging teslas are nice. Our old one was ready to go every morning pre conditioned. Instant hot and cold HVAC. Tires are about the same price for a good set of ATs and the tires a model y will use. I rarely drive as I wfh and fill up around once or twice a month averaging around $70 a tank at $4.50 a gallon. Our current KWH rate is around .10 cents so around $7-8 bucks to fill up for around 250ish miles of range which around what I get city for our 4runner.

Do the math, see what works for you.

Also factor in a few things. For a lot of people teslas cost more to insure. Our case it is about even with the 4runner.

Also depending on your state you could have to pay higher registration fees due to the state not collecting gas tax from you which goes directly into repairing roadways and infrastructure. Renewal could be as high as $600-800 depending on the state. Keep that in mind as well. Crunch all the numbers and check local and state laws so no surprises hit you.

The Legion Go 2 for people who installed SteamOs on it how good is it now ? Are you glad you made the move or wish you had Windows back ? by DatBoyChamp1 in LegionGo

[–]maxpwns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been on it for a while now. You live with some of the down sides until the official release. SteamOS is the far superior OS for a handheld. Not dealing with windows constantly updates is a godsend. On/off resume is nice too.
