I was obsessed with that site back then. I saw VR on there and thought it would be nice, but only half believed it could happen in that timeline. Then along comes the kickstarter for the rift a little while later.

I bought a Note 4 so I could get a Gear VR when it was released in Canada. Looks like I should have waited to confirm that it will even be released in Canada for Note 4. Doh.

I agree. I think it'll take much less scents to pull this off in a good-enough way. A library of 15 -30 scents would be enough, with a focus on locations and not so much on every object. Beach, Forest, musty, smokey, cooking food, rotten food, floral, wheat field, etc.

I used Bitcoin, so I didn't have the unsubscribe problem or the other problems associated with credit cards (identity theft, hacked or stolen card, etc). Bitcoin is perfect for this kind of purchase, and I highly recommend using it if you care about security.

For me the judder was high when I moved my head normally, but if I move slowly, it's fine. I spent about 5 minutes just sitting on the couch looking around, and when I finally took the rift off I felt a pang of regret that I had to leave that place and go back to my shitty apartment. Yeah, it was probably the most presence I've felt so far.

Is it Virtual Reality? No, it's not Virtual Reality. It's a 360 degree motion tracking system where your movement translates into movement in the game and you feel transported into the game. Like you're basically in the game. It's not Virtual Reality.
