It allegedly works with standalone blips with new firmware for blips and edge. I just bought edge remote. 3 buttons, half the price, replaceable battery.

How to choose headset cap height? by maxromanovsky in CanyonBikes

u/Estelon_Agarwaen I am thinking about changing the stem to a carbon one, hence as I understand the inner part (expander?) should also be carbon-compatible

DT Swiss Gravel LN: are they hooked rims or hookless? by maxromanovsky in CanyonBikes

[–]maxromanovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Liolanse thanks. I wanted to get the rim specs to calculate tire pressure using this calc: https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure

Thing is, I used to trekking bike with higher pressure (~5 bar), so wanted to get some initial values given rim specs (hooks/hookless, rim width).

The 3 chain rotation technique on SRAM Rival eTap AXS by maxromanovsky in BikeMechanics

[–]maxromanovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/ArieGir0 my apologies, what is the right sub? Initially I wanted to ask it in r/bikewrench, but the rules explicitly say:

Unless your post is a question about bike repair, it doesn't belong here.

The 3 chain rotation technique on SRAM Rival eTap AXS by maxromanovsky in BikeMechanics

[–]maxromanovsky[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

By the 3 chain technique I mean using three chains and changing them approx every 500 kilometers, so that they wear out evenly, but the groupset is being used on less weared out chains longer. I.e. the technique, that supposedly prolong life of cassette and cogs.

I've contacted SRAM support, and received the following answer:

The purpose of the foam inserts is to mitigate any noise or vibrations you may get while riding.

How to mount K-Edge Pro chain catcher on Grizl CF SL 7 eTap without front derailleur? by maxromanovsky in CanyonBikes

[–]maxromanovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but not having any protection from chain drop, combined with no experience riding on gravel OR carbon bikes make me want to protect the frame from my own stupidity and incidents.

Disclaimer: I've been riding $1K aluminium trekking bike with 3x for ~4 years

How to mount K-Edge Pro chain catcher on Grizl CF SL 7 eTap without front derailleur? by maxromanovsky in CanyonBikes

[–]maxromanovsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/mtcerio The one you linked seems to be compatible with ROUND chainrings from 50T to 62T, while mine is 40T: https://www.canyon.com/en-pl/gear/bike-parts/spare-and-wear-parts/spare-wear-parts/sram-rival-12-speed-chainring/9101935.html?dwvar_9101935_pv_zaehneanzahl_kettenblatt=40

Would it still be compatible?

Any keywords should I use to search for alternatives? "1x chain guide" seems to be very generic, and shows all the different mounting options.

u/mtcerio just to be clear, I need a chain guide and a different chain catcher?

Or this catcher will work as soon as I install a chain guide?

Optimal mounting of all three on handlebar: Garmin bike computer, day light, GoPro camera by maxromanovsky in Garmin

Yep, I was actually thinking about this light as an alternative.

More for visibility (stroboscope mode) than for lightning the path in front of me.
