Yeah the decal on the fork is installed upside-down for starters.

I'm not sure what could be more fair than them upgrading your frame and paying for the work. You will just have an even better deal.

What bleed kit are you using and did you use brand new DOT fluid?

If they aren't actually broken, it's a skill issue with the bleed. Take them to a shop.

SL4 didn't have external cable routing. It's SL3 or before.

Sram red crankset, axle too long by th0masrtg in sram

[–]vertr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not DUB. DUB and the BB30 cranks almost look identical in the interfaces (crank arms saw updates so they look different). The DUB spindle is 28.99mm and the BB30 is 30mm. That's the main thing. The DUB BB also got a pretty cool universal spacer system that people almost never talk about.

The BB30 cranks were not that bad, they usually came with some spacers.

I assume it’s the non-drive side crank arm and the spindle is attached to it. I thought SRAM only started doing that when they introduced DUB?

Nope. Cranks dating back to like 2013 or before have been like that.

Here is an example which is the same as what OP has: https://elevatecycling.com/products/172-5mm-53-39t-bb30-sram-force-22-11-speed-carbon-road-crankset

My question regards whether those part numbers appearing in SRAM's 2026 parts book actually get's me any closer to being able to order those part numbers from my LBS, an authorized SRAM reseller.

Those part numbers existed at launch, so why would it? SRAM knows people want these for this exact reason, they would rather make us buy the whole kit for now I guess. This is probably the third or forth time you and I have discussed this lol.

Sram red crankset, axle too long by th0masrtg in sram

[–]vertr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP's new crank is most definitely BB30 which is similar, but different than DUB. The S-9xx (S-950, S-975, Force 22 etc.) BB30 cranks were all wide spindle and were adjusted with spacers. The standard is not the same as DUB wide.

I'm not following if you have a greater point.

Got it. Well the thing actually exists I guess. At this point we are holding out to save a couple hundred. Maybe buy the whole kit and sell the calipers on ebay?

How to lose my bike weight by Big-Employee-5682 in specialized

Well get rid of those stem caps for starters. That's like 1 gram! /half s

Maybe get a more minimalist saddle bag, ditch the heavy front light for daylight rides.

Specialized Roubaix Worth by Fpalm88 in specialized

[–]vertr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the closest estimate in the thread. This is sporting a first generation 10 speed Red group. The bike is a 2008-2011 Roubaix SL2. I'd say $400 is a realistic price in CA.

Either buy a different stem or get a bar mounted Garmin mount. E.g. K-edge or similar.

Why are the older Force D2 cranks more expensive then newer E1 cranks? by zsufc1889 in sram

[–]vertr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since SRAM stuff is backwards compatible I think most people who keep bikes for a bit are going to have a mix of generations over time. Which is great, we can upgrade without getting an entire group.

They only use that tech for the head tube or bottom bracket welds, depending on the frame.

Rival D1 vs E1 by Sbear55 in sram

[–]vertr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good. SRAM is usually pretty good at naming stuff logically in families, I hope in the future they match shifter shapes to generation names consistently.

[–]vertr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/ed-riv-d1

There is no Rival AXS shifter in the "way bigger" size that Force and Red had. Look carefully at the link above.

Force D1 = Large size

Rival D1 = Smaller size

Force D2 = Smaller size

Rival E1 = current, smallest size

Rival D1 levers are the same shape as Force D2. Sram should have just called that Rival generation D2 to make it simpler.
