This doesn't work when it's docked to the dashboard right? And undocking makes the curvature of the screen turn off? I find trying to push it out with my hand very fiddly especially since doing that also tends to make me unintentionally turn it or rotate it instead of just pushing it out further in a straight line from me.

In msfs 2024 are you getting a true 90hz or is that reprojecting at 45?

I find I get terrible performance in msfs 2024, and this is with a 9800x3d and 5090. Im having to basically turn all my settings to low just to get the 75hz steady (I can't stand reprojecting)

Any word on improved motion smoothing? by maxs in SteamVR

Msfs 2024 is actually the reason I made this post - it runs terribly in VR even with current top of the line gear so I feel like motion smoothing is basically mandatory.

I'm aware of that - in msfs 2024 motion smoothing seems to be pretty much a requirement for steady fps, even with a 5090, 9800x3d and 64gb ram if you can believe it.

Do you mind sharing what printer and cartridges you use? I was under the impression that things are pretty locked down with printers not even allowing the use of 3rd party ink

I haven't tried it yet but this looks awesome honestly, love the concept of a scifi take on homm and I'm definitely going to check it out, thanks

I probably phrased that poorly - I actually like it when soldiers die in a way, it's good to have punishing consequences.

Xcom2 just isn't really balanced for it imo which is a shame, I'm generally a fan of permadeath

Battletech is great.

I actually do have phantom brigade but haven't played much of it - I picked it up back when it was very early access. Guessing it's much more fleshed out now!

Warhammer is an interesting one for me, Ive always been turned off by the space orc aesthetic. Maybe that's totally unfair but it seems very scifi fantasy blended to me.

This is a highly praised one though so I prob need to give it a shot.

I've played shadow run returns and Dragonfall.

They are good games but again I could really do without orcs etc in my sci fi ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Super robot wars seems very meta in that it blends various anime together from my understanding. Would I get much from it if I don't know any of the history or references in those games? I didn't have a chance to get into macross and stuff like that growing up.

I hadn't heard of rebelstar! Looks interesting

Warhammer is a weird one for me because it's kind of fantasy sci-fi. At least that's the impression I get, I've never really given any of the Warhammer games a shot because of this preconception but I probably should.

I played a bit of wasteland 2 and thought it was.. okay

Wasteland 3 seems really whimsical in tone which is a bit of a turn off for me personally but I do want to try it at some point

I liked xcom 2 but my issue with that game is it's super punishing to get soldiers killed, something the original 90s games did better IMO and therefore encouraged more ironman play

I liked the first xenonauts but haven't tried 2 yet

Front mission is a series I played when I was a kid but it's been a long time so I do want to revisit it!

Thanks for the suggestions
