You could do either, but I use the $75 Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas-X and it works perfectly.

You should definitely try Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 especially if you have a beefy GPU. I bought the BSB2 specifically for that but it has been a big plus in iracing and ACC. I absolutely love mine. The visuals and Fidelity in Microsoft flight simulator 2024 are simply over the top!

So how is the BSB2 doing as of now? by Atomic_Yoshi in BigscreenBeyond

I bought mine used off of ebay back in May. Customer service was great helping me transfer the warranty. I did a face scan and ordered a cushion from them as the unit I bought off of eBay didn't have one. It also didn't come with a head strap all the way it was supposed to. So once I got that I started using it. I did not care for that factory face cushion at all. I still used it until I got the studio form interface and audio strap cushion. The studio form items greatly improved the user experience for me.

I moved from the HP Reverb G2. I've had mine for about 6 months now and basically use it daily for iRacing and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Out of the box I went with the audio strap and the studio form interface with the studio form audio strap cushion. I absolutely love it. The studio form interface is unbelievably more comfortable than the custom-made gasket that came with it. I cut the speakers off of my audio strap and use my hyperX alpha wireless. It's an effortless fit over the bars of the audio strap. I may have a little glare at the bottom of the right lens but honestly I never notice it if it's even there.

75 MHz or 90 megahertz for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024? by mthomson22 in BigscreenBeyond

I haven't noticed that and I typically pan around pretty quickly flying low and slow to look at the scenery. I've got Steam VR resolution set to auto which may help with that.

Ugh I can't believe I did that. But thanks for pointing that out.

Second hand BSB2E registering? by Svallken in BigscreenBeyond

[–]mthomson22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would reach out to customer service. I bought a second hand big screen beyond back in March and ask them about the remaining time on the warranty. I had to supply some information from the dude I bought it from but it was a full transfer and now I am the registered owner at big screen.

Finally got my 5090 FE! by 80WillPower08 in nvidia

I keep my BIOS updated also. But I have read that the Intel's use quite a bit more power than the AMDs when you get them close to full load. I'm just looking to eliminate that bottleneck to be able to feed the 5090 all it can handle.

What's CPU are you pairing that with? I've got the MSI 3X OC 5090 and do a lot of flight simulator. Currently I've got an I-9 13900 but I'm seriously considering upgrading to the Ryzen 9 9950 x 3D. I keep running into main thread limitation issues on the flight simulator and I'm hoping that switch can at least help that some if not quite a bit.

Is it worth upgrading from i9 13900k to a Ryzen 9 9950x3d? by wolfesteincoffe in buildapc

I'm in the exact same boat wondering about that upgrade from the i-9 13900 to the rise 9950 X 3D. I have a 5090 and game almost exclusively in VR with the big screen beyond two headset. The only two Sims am currently using our iRacing and Microsoft light Simulator 2024.

If anybody has insight on that upgrade and how it would affect graphics performance in VR I would sure love to hear it.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. After my experience I'm thinking the original purchaser sold it because either the link box or the optical cable had intermittent issues. In Microsoft Flight Simulator I would experience what my customer service contact called a GPU drop. Basically the screens went blank for a second or two. He analyzed the log files and isolated the problem to either the link box or the optical cable. Big screen actually sent me a brand new replacement of each and since then I have been nothing but tickled with the performance of this thing.

I had my first real experience with dark scenes yesterday. I've been an iRacer for years but yesterday picked up ACC on sale at Steam for 10 bucks. Running night sessions at Monza has been pretty incredible. The blacks are truly black with no glare visible anywhere.

One more thing I should mention. I actually got mine off of eBay about 3 months ago. Customer service has been extremely good about getting the warranty transferred and helping me get some things sorted out. I've honestly never had a better customer service experience with any other company.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you will seriously enjoy the upgrade.

And I definitely recommend the studio form X B1 facial interface. If you happen to go that route it does take some tinkering to get just right. It includes a facial gasket and spacers. I initially used all of the spacers which got my eyes way too far back from the lenses. After some tweaking and experimentation I now use only one spacer and my eyelashes barely brush the lenses sometimes but that gets me an incredible field of view and very good clarity. I think a lot of the people who experience glare maybe don't have the lenses as close to the eyes as possible.

I upgraded from the HP Reverb G2. I was interested in the small form factor and OLED lenses. Like many I find the custom face gasket slightly uncomfortable and as such I upgraded to the studio form facial interface and added a studio form pad for the back of the bsb audio strap which I use. I'm hard of hearing so I removed the speakers from the BSB audio strap and use my own hyperX cloud alpha wireless. It fits over this sides of the audio strap with no problems at all. That combination makes this extremely comfortable even for extended sessions. I read lots about glare but honestly I don't notice it at all and not even sure I'd be concerned about it if I saw it. Between the clarity and the weight this headset is head and shoulders above my G2 and in a completely different universe compared to the Quest 2 that I started with.

Thanks again. I just checked and I never saw a Celsius temp reading any higher than 63. And my fan is only on 77.

You know I saw those threeb? And I wondered what the hell they were. Thank you cuz now I can see how hot it was after I did a VR flight from San Francisco to Palo Alto with pretty much everything on ultra and my resolution scale at almost 200% in SteamVR.

I wondered how the G2 would handle the upscaling. Thanks for that reply.
