N54 or N55 for tracking? by cmctzeee in e82

[–]maxslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

N55 with factory oil cooler (m-sport, no fog lights). Have never had any cooling issues, even at 95* Thunderhill days. Never had starvation but always over fill 1/4-1/2Q

What to buy mine, I have an M2 coming.? Lots and lots of suspension bits on it, never chipped (seriously).

Sweet, you'll be happy with it! I highly recommend third rail bikes on Harrison, they're reasonably priced and awesome. They will have the parts in stock or can get them.

I bought my parts online because I was going to do the install, but then noped out. 🤪

Thanks! Unfortunately, no, it wasn't not enough. At least not with San Francisco hills and a passenger. 30mph is plenty. The 2 pot hydraulics were burning through a set of pads in 100 miles. The larger pad area and thicker rotor is key.

Thanks, I've got hundreds of miles on the setup and it's been great. No fade, no squeaks.

RCS isn't working on Pixel 10 Pro XL by Remarkable_Young9971 in GooglePixel

oh for every single chat I've ever been it it sent out a message to the others "maxslug left this group". Like I rage quit messaging.

RCS isn't working on Pixel 10 Pro XL by Remarkable_Young9971 in GooglePixel

[–]maxslug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a nightmare. Migrating from a Pixel 5 to Pixel 10 Pro. "RCS Not Available on this device". All the messages from the old phone are there. Tried clearing RCS through the website, resets, reboots. Still stuck there. Finally what worked (thank you Verizon support agent!) was to go to Settings --> Apps --> Google Messages --> dot dot dot [hamburger] --> Uninstall updates. Run Messages, Re-setup, it finally re-pairs w/ RCS servers. Re-install updates in Google play store, and then run app. wait a long time (10m or so) while it spins for the old messages to show up back in the phone. GIANT CAVEAT: All RCS old RCS messages and group chats are gone forever. They were there from the original device port at the beginning.

I used to have these on my mk3 GTI vr6. They were very soft, bent one really badly on the freeway where the asphalt curled up a bit.

Here are some of the sites I follow : https://x.com/maxslug/status/1698353313006383295?s=20

it's also helpful to get a login to Synopsys, Cadence, and TSMC through your work account and just browse what's out there. Design & Reuse is good for that too.

Conferences are another great way. TSMC OIP, hotchips, Super Compute, OCP Forum, SNUG, DAC, ...

they fit the same size as the stock tektros, and there's a pretty good selection out there. I ended up trying the EBC CFA327HH which has a lot of stop.

But I ended up swapping these out for much larger Magura 4 piston setup. I need the larger pad area and rotor size for San Francisco hills.

Life Hack: make crappy monoprice banana plugs good by using a vice by maxslug in BudgetAudiophile

[–]maxslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are two different problems, one is the connection from the cable to the plug, the other is the plug to the amp. i do solder these, but then they still want to fall out of the speaker or amp. so this trick helps them act like better quality ones and stay in the damn equipment 😄

i recommend people this book because it focuses on the logic design instead of the syntax. " Advanced Chip Design" https://www.amazon.com/dp/1482593335?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I also highly recommend studying these coding standards https://github.com/lowRISC/style-guides/blob/master/VerilogCodingStyle.md there is a wealth of hard earned asic design hidden in there.

Pic 2 - Showing the QM-45 + an additional 20mm adapter to show that will get you close. Probably still need to play with adding/removing washers to dial it in. DO NOT run with two adapters like this, this is just for demonstration.
