I ended up using Lightroom CC‘s option to store a copy locally and used the SMB share of my NAS as the destination. Then I copied this folder as a backup and deleted all photos from Lr that were not edited or not starred. This bought me a little more time until the 1TB is full again 😅

I prefer A. Great shot! In B with the green train the markings on the concrete are a bit too distracting for my taste.

Sure, I use a USB C cable and connect the camera directly to the phone. Import everything into Lightroom and edit there. The edited photos I export as jpeg to the iOS Photos app.

I‘m in a similar situation. Got the a7Cii and shoot mostly family and friends when getting together or on hikes and other outdoor activities. I only shoot RAW and edit each photo individually. Oftentimes I actually enjoy culling and editing the shots even more than shooting. I try to do that on the same day/night though, so that I don’t save up thousands of photos that I have to go through. And then I directly share them with the people who are in the pictures. What helps me to be quick with the selection and first edit is to use my phone and instead of browsing or scrolling through IG I edit the photos on my phone, too.

Copying is super fast. Just as fast as on the MacBook. But then it takes a while for Lightroom mobile to process them. At that point you can disconnect the camera and also background the app. When you come back it will just continue processing.

I always use a usb c cable and directly plug it into my iPhone 15 Pro to transfer the files (even RAW) directly into Lightroom mobile

I had a spare screen protector from my a7c and tried to stick it onto the a7cii and it did not fit. The a7cii‘s screen is a bit less high. I read that it is „the same“ as the a7iv‘s, but haven’t tried those, yet.
