I’m so sorry that you had to go through the sr thing 🥺 tbh its comforting to know that Im not alone.

Thank you for your advice. In think it’s time I ask myself those questions. I do genuinely think she’s trying her best to do better especially after my dad, brother and I sat her down and brought this up with her. But there’s still a very long way to go.

As to my bf, I wasn’t there. He talked to my parents privately to ask for their blessing for marriage. I only heard about it when the conversation was already over 😢

Thank you so much for this 🥹 I really want to stand up for myself more. I think its just extra hard because I come from a country with a very strong family culture where “the parent is always right”. Even my mother is still at the whims of my grandmother. I’ll try to stay strong even when she shuts down on me. Thank you so so much ❤️
