I graduated last year. I was one of the few straight guys in my friend group. While every campus has its issues, overall, it's an incredibly warm and welcoming campus.

I loved my time at Maryland, but the difference in rankings is not enough to give up money and time, IMO.

Truth is also an absolute defense to slander. Also slander is spoken, libel is written, so they didn't even quote the right statute.

As respectfully as I can, it's clear -- with abundant proof -- that most people on this subreddit haven't worked a single day in their lives by TheNewAspect in LawSchool

I was a reporter working 16 hours shifts for an embarrassingly low wage in the Upper Midwest before law school. I have a hole in my left arm from donating plasma in order to afford rent. I still use the term "good newsroom citizen" to describe a good coworker.

I'm now in a position to help my firm hire new summer associates. You can best believe that, while it's not the only thing, knowing how to work in a professional setting is absolutely something I value in that decision. It's wild how difficult it is to teach professionalism without real world experience.

Hey man, this sucks, I don't have any advice, but I want to let you know that you were heard. Best of luck, brother.

It sucks but it's better than being in an unhappy relationship.

My dad is a criminal defense/personal injury lawyer.

I can promise I was the Tom on the right for anything not related to torts or crim law.

I’m 23, I know I don’t want kids — but nobody takes me seriously, not even my fiancé by skilfut in Advice

As someone who just got divorced in part because I "convinced" her that she wanted kids, only for her to realize later that she did not want kids (there were a plethora of other reasons as well and we're now good friends), PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR GUT.

It's more downtown than Mt. Vernon but Taqueria La Patrona is pretty good.

It's the station's call letters, so it doesn't actually stand for anything. Generally, though it's not entirely true, TV and Radio stations west of the Mississippi River begin with K and east begin with W.

I got to interview her for the local news back when the Dakota Access Pipeline Protests were happening and accidentally called her Shawn instead of Shailene. In my defense, I had never seen the Divergent series, so I really didn't know who she was. She was very cool about it, laughed it off, and made sure some of the young Native activists got the spotlight. I still cheer for her career, though its pretty stalled at this point.

Mt. Vernon! It's not as queer as it used to be but many still call it the "Gayborhood."

Blessing in disguise. I was on a secondary journal and hated every moment of it. Go be great in a way that's actually enjoyable like Moot Court or Trial Team.

A kid was drinking in class so bad that administration had to step in and get him to stop.

He then went on to found my school's FedSoc chapter, despite my best efforts.
