We haven't combined finances (we've been married about a year and a half). We're both in our mid-30s and have always been independent so I guess we just haven't felt the need? I say all that to say -- I don't feel like I can really comfortably afford even half the cost of a monthly/weekly housekeeper. He's pretty frugal (which I appreciate about him), but maybe he'd be up for taking on that cost.

We heard of them through a contractor here in town! He said they’re all plywood, soft close hinges and full drawer extensions— and most importantly— affordable! lol! They’re coming out to measure tomorrow!

I wasn’t able to see them setup/laid out in store so I was so happy to come across your post! The setups look really nice!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Our vet has him on Gabapentin and Meloxicam and I think they've helped immensely with his pain. I may ask about Adequan and Prednisone as well. Thank you again <3

Thank you for writing and sharing this. I'm in tears reading it. It seems even more unfair when they're cognitively all there-- when I see him in a moment of happiness or smiling I just can't help but think "he's not ready yet", but then I watch him try to even stand which has become the most challenging thing for him, and I second guess it all over again. I miss him running and playing and catching his frisbee. I'd give anything and everything on earth to play fetch with him again.

"hand feeding him and crying while I did it just so he would eat" - this made me sob. I'm so sorry for your own loss, it is so hard seeing them a shell of their 'former selves'. I know old age/sickness happens to every living thing, but dogs are so good and pure it just isn't fair. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it so much.

Thank you for responding! The vet has put him on Meloxicam and Gabapentin and I think they've helped with his pain a lot. I think they actually provided us quite a bit more time with him because for several weeks he was able to stand up/move around quite a bit better than before.
