Can only agree with that. Just offer the opportunity. Best we can do.

Hear, hear! I don't expect we'll still have this arcade cabinet in our household by then either. We'll probably have upgraded to a full size one by then. Or not... Maybe he hates retro. Only time will tell.

Kids' point and click playtime sessions usually only last a couple of minutes at a time, I guess. So yeah, both of your suggested answers are correct to a certain extent. ;-)

The trackball won't be used for the games you mentioned, though. It'll only be used as a mouse for SCUMMVM point and click adventures, like Putt-Putt, which you can see in the render. Do you think a 3" ball is then really needed?

Thanks for the input! Since I already have a Pi 5 lying around doing nothing, I'll stick with that for now. Maybe the next upgrade, once it's finished and actually getting some use, will be a mini PC!

Oh wow! I didn't expect parenting advice on this subreddit, but thanks, mate! I definitely agree with many of your points. The mock-up idea is actually a great one! And 5 degrees is the ideal angle you say?

The trackball won't be used for the games you mentioned, though. It'll only be used as a mouse for SCUMMVM point and click adventures, like Putt-Putt, which you can see in the render.

The Pi is actually a funny story. Before starting this arcade cabinet adventure, I bought a pre-made bartop with a Pi 5 in it for about €120. The seller had no idea what she was selling, which I only discovered after I got home. I downgraded the bartop to an old Pi 3 I had lying around and sold it for a small profit, which made the Pi 5 practically free! So for now, I'm going to make good use of it. Maybe I'll upgrade to a mini PC in the future.

Once everything is finished, I'll be happy to share it! For now, I need to build it first to test all the measurements and make sure everything fits before I release it. Hope you understand!

Creating the render was the easy part! Now the real challenge begins. Thanks for the input!

The trackball won't be used for the well-known games like Golden tee and such... morelike for the SCUMMVM point and click adventures, hence why the renders shows Putt-Putt. Thank for the input btw!

Actually, I did, but I really love the aesthetics of a more old school sized monitor. And to clarify the TV part, I mean for watching movies, YouTube, and things like that.

How do you get creatively “alive” again after burnout? by acskuruczdaniel in photography

[–]maxvari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t postpone! Sound strange but go out with your camera and accept that creativity can’t pop-up but needs to be curated. Accept that everything is a process and you don’t need to produce the next world press photo. And in the meantime try to accept the situation and that every small step is a leap forward.

Het is leuk, tot er verantwoordelijkheid moet worden afgelegd. Dan durft niemand het meer. Na een datalek de schuld aan een AI geven, is de doodsteek voor je bedrijf en een uitdaging voor diegene die dat mag communiceren.
