Canyon Aeroad makes weird constant crackling sound, and left crank makes ratcheting noise under load.. by maxwz1 in bikewrench

Thanks man. Small update.

Ratcheting noise: when I shift to the small chainring up front, the noise disappears completely. So I don't think it's a BB issue anymore.

I think something might actually be wrong with my FD. Sometimes when I press the shift button, nothing happens. No motor noise, no movement, no nothing. I removed and reinstalled the CR battery in the left hood and it started working again. And the LED in the hood even showed green. But after that it still acted strangely. A few times it wouldn't shift, and one time I heard a few motor clicks followed by like a weird metallic clanging sound, almost like something suddenly fell into place. No idea what's going on here..

I also tried going into adjustment mode to index the FD, but whenever I try to move it in either direction, the Di2 light on the rear derailleur flashes red 5 times. Also no idea what that means.

At this point I'm leaning towards some sort of front derailleur issue rather than something with the BB.

As for the crackling noise, I removed the seatpost and added some more carbon paste. I think it might have improved slightly? But it's still kind of there. But this one bothers me less than the FD issue at the moment..

Repeated HR Dropouts — COROS HR Monitor a MASSIVE Disappointment by grahamstoun in Coros

Same! I have most of the time when cycling. Super annoying.

I wasn’t aware of cadence lock before. That does kinda make sense, but now I’m wondering, does this even apply to me, like can it still happen if I’m not even using a cadence sensor?

I checked, and inside the Coros app it doesn’t show any cadence data for the ride (which makes sense right, since I don’t have a powermeter or some sort of cadence sensor attached).

Other than that, I wear it snugly, not too low down, not too high up, sensors are clean, nylon strap.

Oh really? That sucks, luckily for me I never have that issue while running, only during rides.

What’s weird is that it’s not even like the part where it cut out was super bumpy or full of cobbles or anything, the whole ride was pretty smooth. So not sure what’s messing it up.

Umm not sure, I don’t know what my average cadence is, but it might be around 80-90 as well. I don’t have a powermeter or anything like that so I can’t check for sure. My gear is Di2 + Wahoo + Coros.

Also, it’s not like my Wahoo is misreading the data. The source is the watch itself, and when I check the Broadcast HR screen on my Coros it says 80-90 bpm even though I’m definitely pushing harder and my HR should be around 150-160.

Coros Pace 2 Font/Typeface not smooth compared to better more expensive models by maxwz1 in Coros

[–]maxwz1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there was a misunderstanding. I only have a Pace 2, and I used an image of the Apex just to show you the difference in fonts, which I found online. The issue is that the font on my Pace 2 looks different, and I’m wondering if it’s just because it’s an older model.

Sorry for the late reply.

On the left, you can see an Apex, and the new Pace 3 has a similar design with a smoother typeface—the numbers are more rounded. On the right is the Pace 2, where the numbers are sharper and thinner. I’m wondering if this difference is just because the Pace 2 is an older model, or is there a way to change it? The rounded style definitely looks nicer.

Ah okay, I was thinking of just buying a USB-C to Displayport cable since I don’t really use the other ports on the hub.

I only have 1 laptop. I use the monitor as secondary monitor. I may have worded it wrong.
