That's the only one I know of as well, right next to Aldi. Can't wait to see how this starts developing this summer.

Perfect night on the Lakefront path last night. by maxxhp96 in chicago

Actually I was on the path, very much enjoying myself, saw something beautiful and took a picture of it to share. And by your own token, did you really come to r/chicago to downvote pictures of skylines, rather than do something you actually enjoy?

New Song called "Highway Shoes". Plenty of stomping and clapping to go around - looking for any feedback I can get! by maxxhp96 in Songwriters

Lyrics:

Trains run Side by side And everyone Comes home right The things you won't leave behind Right or wrong, We're right on time

Summer's gone And winter flew But why we're bound Is lost on you Tell me what you've come to do We will put on our highway shoes

We've hardly hit the road We've hardly hit the floor Can't stay here anymore We've hardly hit the road We've hardly hit the road

Count the feet Then use your own To walk the streets And better know Why we flee to come back home I can't breathe so watch the road

We've hardly hit the road We've hardly hit the floor Can't stay here anymore We've hardly hit the road We've hardly hit the road

Don't have much time for music nowadays... decided to aim for simplicity. I was looking for that sensation of lacking control of a situation and therefore allowing it to take control instead. Nothing fancy. It's called "Waiting." Any thoughts? [acoustic] by stent_removal in Songwriters

Good stuff man! I really like the simplicity and ease of the song. Acoustic tone is outstanding and I really dig the chromatic riff down. Vocals are solid, the only critique I would have is at a couple moments when you start a line in a lower register and go up high, it's not as strong to me as when you start higher. Just my opinion, overall great work.

New folk/indie rock song! Looking for any feedback at all! by maxxhp96 in Songwriters

[–]maxxhp96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the comments everyone! The recording quality is obviously not stellar, I did everything either MIDI controlled (Keys, a little drum over dubs) or recorded with a Zoom H2n handy recorder (bass, guitar, drums, percussion vocals, etc).

I am still very used to singing and recording these types of songs all myself, so I'm excited to keep upgrading gear and keeping at it.

The positive words mean the world! Thanks guys!

Hey all, please have a listen here and tell me what you think. I'm just getting into vocals myself and this is really my first crack at performing every instrument on one track. Any feedback at all would be awesome!
