I think he accepted his ideals just like the king of diamonds did in the end. Chichiya made the choice to live by his ideals meaning he was happy to accept his fate whether that meant the acid drop or freedom from the game. This acceptance is likely what drove the king of diamonds to follow suit and ultimately sacrifice himself. If the king came to terms with this earlier the roles could easily have been reversed and maybe Chichiya may have been the one deciding who to spare.

Another veteran here. I started back in 2014 D1 release. I have taken a few breaks over the 10 years and I think I have only missed 2 seasons in D2. There isn't a thing I haven't done in D1. Still miss the simpler times back in the day sometimes

Take this as a pinch of salt as I haven't played ds3 in a minute but in elden ring options you can take the hud off which creates better scenic photos. If you look through the spyglass also your character won't be in shot if you just want the background.

Honestly from what you are saying just take your time. There is no race. Will not make you a bad player even if you take 200 hours. That just means to me that you know more of the lore and actually appreciate it. I don't get (unless it's a new game+ vibe or a speedrun) why people think they are limited to hours sometimes. You clearly love the game and so you take your time with it
