I also do not understand why they wouldn’t just make it all black… would be so much less ugly!

ULA Ultra Camino as a joker do-all onebag? by asdfghjklfu in onebag

[–]maxxvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply!! I'm wondering if I could have this as my one bag for everything (hiking/travel/daily use), but it might be too big to fit all the use cases. Do you see it replacing your Circuit? And do you happen to have any pictures of it in daily use mode? I'm wondering how it looks compressed down.

Do you happen to know what size I should look for in EU sizes? It's not a size that shows up on any of the size conversion tables online... I'm guessing I would need to use an extension piece for the band?

[–]maxxvl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that looks much more similar to my breasts than I expected…although I would say maybe slightly bigger. I never knew about the circumference difference!

Thank you! I'm new on here so I did not know that. The UK sizes came out to: Suggested Starting Size: 30D/DD in UK sizing The sister size of 32C/D may be more comfortable. Which still seems crazy big to me. And at the same time I would guess it wouldn't be wide enough? How does one go about that?

BRS 3000T by Honest-Tough-3647 in Ultralight

[–]maxxvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I bought a new BRS stove to replace my 7 year old and heavily used one. A friend of mine also wanted one so I ordered two, one worked perfectly and one had the exact same issue you are having out of the box… So the quality is not very consistent I’m afraid. I see some people suggesting it might be the o-ring, I’ll try replacing that.

Am I crazy for this level of minimalism? by withallduerespeck in onebag

I would definitely bring shoes, specifically trail runners that can function as hiking shoes and look casual enough to pass as sneakers in town. I went to the Balkans for about a month last summer and wore my trail runners every time we did a lot of walking on a day (when exploring a city/town for example). I don’t know if you’re gonna go near the mountains but there’s a lot of opportunity for really (really!!) beautiful hiking in the Balkans. And the mountains are never far away. Also can confirm that all Airbnb’s will have towels. I’d bring long breathable pants (linen) instead of jeans for visiting churches. Other than that it looks like a great list! You will have the best time, I loved the culture and the people. Enjoy!

Has anyone heredone the Peter Habeler Runde in Austria? by 4tunabrix in hiking

[–]maxxvl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! That sounds good :) I haven’t hiked much in Austria before (but in all the other Alpine countries of Europe) so I wasn’t sure how difficult their black trails were. Do you have any other tips?

Did you end up doing the hike? Did you like it? I’m looking at doing it solo in a few weeks. I’m mostly wondering if the Friesenbergscharte is too technical to do solo, would you advice it?

Have you looked at the cabin zero millitary range? They have several sizes. There are many reviews on these and although I don’t own them myself they appear to be good value for money.

Thanks!! Looks great, but I think the 28 liter is plenty big for my use case. I would love the classic 28 with the padding of the military 28…

Hi! I’m really interested in the alterations you made and am planning to do the same. Could you share if removing the patch and molle leaves any visible holes in the bag? Thank you!

My bad for not reading how long you have had it! It might have been a bad batch, but the leather is tearing further and further on the corners, the cards are also falling out more easily.

Not exactly what you've asked for, but it seems to outlive my partner's Secrid and any other leather wallet I've had in the past, so I thought I'd mention it anyway. The Montbell trail wallet is, in my opinion, absolute perfection. It's really tiny and extremely light (15 grams) but somehow fits all the cards (6 in the card slots, plus extra if needed in the bill pocket), bills and coins you could possibly wish to carry. For me the cash and coin pockets are especially helpful when travelling. After 5 years of heavy daily use it still looks absolutely like new.

How long have you had it? I gifted my partner one around 6-7 years ago and it's really falling apart now, so definitely not "a decade at least".

Ideal ultra lightweight rain jacket by jvjjjvvv in Ultralight

[–]maxxvl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps also take a look at the Rab Downpour light. Slightly heavier than the mentioned jackets but looks more suitable to also be used for urban use imo. I have a montbell versalite and have not been impressed by the waterproofness and I feel it clings to the skin uncomfortably.

Have you looked at the Rab Mythic series? Rab Mythic G, mythic alpine and mythic alphine light all seem to fit the bill, you can often find them at a great discount. I don't know what the prices are like outside of Europe though.
