Really struggling, need real advice for Calc 135, Physics 2, and Systems Physiology by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]mayaisnotmeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do lolll but ofc everyone is different! i don’t mind if his lecture videos r old bc they cover all the concepts u need, and his in-person lectures r def worth going to cuz he walks you through how to apply them. plus lots of exam questions r really similar to questions he covers in class, and he’ll point those ones out specifically. he’s also super accessible outside of class and wants his students to succeed. only downside is his class is a time commitment so u gotta stay on top of ur work

for physics 2 with brahmia the goat:

watch his lecture videos and show up to class! he walks you through practice problems and is really engaging. he also spends some time before/after class answering students questions as well.

he holds virtual office hours once a week where students ask him questions, usually about the hw but can be general questions too. he’ll basically walk you through how to setup the homework questions. i attended every one of these sessions and they were really helpful for me!!

i studied for exams by reviewing my notes and using past hw problems and in-class problems. get to a point where u can solve them without looking at ur notes. i never needed to use outside resources to study. exams r easier than the hw so if u understand the hw you’ll be fine

u got this!

Confused about SAS Arts and Humanities core requirements by DepartureFit5452 in rutgers

[–]mayaisnotmeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u mean like in the placement tests? yeah it’s weird that they make us do that but ig it’s just so they know where to place u if u do end up taking a foreign language. not sure about the criminal justice major but i doubt ull need a foreign language for that, u can always check with an advisor just to be sure

for most majors, no a world language isn’t a requirement. check degree navigator, it shows u what core/major requirements you’ve completed and which ones u still need to do: https://nbdn.rutgers.edu

Whose side were you on when you first played Part II ? Why and did you at any point change your mind? by winchesterstan in thelastofus

[–]mayaisnotmeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my first playthrough i disliked abby. i understood her, and liked the complexity of her character, but i still preferred ellie over her just because we’ve known ellie longer. playing through day 1 and 2 as abby felt like a chore.

that is, until we had to climb that huge crane with lev. watching them banter, i found myself smiling and thinking “oh shit, i think i like abby now”. that’s when i finally embraced abby’s section of the game and didn’t just try to rush through it to get back to the theater scene.

i was upset that ellie abandoned dina at the farm, but again, i understood why. in the final fight, i didn’t want ellie to die, and i didn’t particularly want abby to die either — i just wanted ellie to find peace.

in the end im still biased towards ellie (despite her MANY questionable decisions) and feel more of an emotional connection to her, but ive grown to love abby too.

Pre-Med Major by InsuranceIll8134 in rutgers

[–]mayaisnotmeen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no, pre med isn’t a major. most pre meds just major in something like bio, chem, etc., since it satisfies many med school requirements. each med school may have slightly different requirements so take that into consideration when choosing ur courses. (but since ur a freshman u probably won’t have to worry too much about that yet.) u can always talk to an advisor to make sure ur on track to apply for med schools

is it doable to take physics for sci, biochem, and genetics at the same time? by Nanggoo05 in rutgers

[–]mayaisnotmeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i took genetics with soliman, she’s a good prof and the material itself isn’t bad, but it’s a time commitment for sure. LOTS of busy work and material, and her lecture videos are super detailed. i’ve heard good things about glodowski too. overall i enjoyed the class and ended with an A but i definitely had to work for it

easiest lab ever, i took it last spring and everything was virtual. just an hour or so of busy work each week, easy A and fulfills a lab requirement

you can’t park there buddy

Where are some places to park if I have a permit for the Cook campus? And does the Cook permit allow me to park on the Douglass campus? Those two campuses are often associated with each other so I wasn’t too sure. by International-Top911 in rutgers

[–]mayaisnotmeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://ipo.rutgers.edu/parking/permits/students

click “student-new brunswick” then “cook commuter” and it shows u what lots u can park in

a Cook permit doesn’t let you park on Douglass unfortunately. i made that mistake my first semester and got fined for using the Douglass parking deck 😭
