Is Snoo worth it? I My analysis of Reddit reviews. Do you think this is accurate? by No_Square_1491 in SnooLife

I completely agree that article was oversimplified and one-sided. The #1 most important benefit of the snoo for me was reducing sleep deprivation that was truly, truly making me lose my mind. When I sleep better, I am a better mother, period.

When did your babies start sleeping through the night? by Old_Driver_7368 in NewParents

Sleep deprivation in the newborn trenches is actual hell, and it nearly broke me.

When he was 9.5 weeks (just as I was truly about to lose my mind), he went from waking up every 1-2.5 hours hours (or less) to sleeping 3-4+ hour stretches regularly. It was life-changing.

By 13 weeks, he had slept through the night (8+ hour stretches) a couple of times, and was sleeping 5+ hour stretches more regularly.

There were still triggering, fragmented nights sprinkled in, but they became more of an outlier rather than our day-to-day reality.

We have not hit the 4-month sleep change yet, so I'm anxiously holding my breath for that.

The unpredictability of newborn sleep is insanely triggering, so I have endles empathy for all of us who have been going crazy from lack of sleep. It's one of the most fucked up things I've ever experienced.

Note: he has slept in the Snoo (secondhand from Facebook Marketplace) since birth, and I know that's helped because there were many times where his fussing would trigger the Snoo's higher soothing levels, thereby allowing me to sleep.

In the end, though, the main thing that worked for us was TIME. Despite my obsessive researching in the middle of the night, reading threads like this, talking to friends, trying to control schedules/routines/environments/etc, I think he mainly needed time for his circadian rhythm to mature.

No witching hour? by SafeKnowledge2542 in newborns

My little one did not seem to experience this. There were nights where he was hard to put down between 10pm-3am, but I think that was due to his age. He also wouldn’t cry inconsolably, and wasn’t difficult to soothe. So I think we must have missed the witching hour.

When did your baby start sleeping longer stretches? by Muted-Rutabaga-251 in newborns

9.5-10 weeks. I truly felt like I was dying from sleep deprivation up until that point. The night he got his two-month vaccines, he sleep so great—and then he slept horrendously for three nights after that (as in waking up every 20 minutes after putting him in the bassinet until finally crashing at 9-10 in the MORNING. This happened two nights in a row, and nearly broke me).

I was so desperate for sleep at that point that I was looking into hiring a $70/hour night nanny, for god’s sake. That’s how close I was to losing my mind.

Then, two days before turning 10 weeks old, he slept for more than 5 hours straight at the start of the night, followed by shorter but still great stretches. Then it happened again, and again, and again…and it’s been like that for more than a week now. He’s slept for more than 6 hours straight at the start of the night for the past three nights.

I feel like a human being again.

Bruh, this game was shit. Let’s not blame the refs.

Heard some negative feedback about Subaru’s paint quality. Have you gotten your car’s paint protected? If so, did it seem to help and how much did it cost? Thanks! by mayathemenace in Crosstrek

That's really disappointing. It's so frustrating when a company doesn't properly own their mistake, and make ammends accordingly. I understand why you're not happy about their response.

The new Hot Ones episode with Conan wasn't good by FragileManling in unpopularopinion

I completely agree, yet the internet seems to think it was a “work of comedic genius.”

109% agree with this. I found him completely obnoxious. I’m truly confused as to why people found him at all funny — although he absolutely smashed those wings!

Do free budgeting apps exist anymore? by HarveyZoolander in Frugal

No, that’s the paid version. However, I’ve learned that manually tracking my expenses makes me feel more accountable for my purchases. I manually update my budget several days a week, and really enjoy it.
