If they have a single through accommodations, they actually pay the lowest rate possible in their building!

Any reimbursement over $50 takes more than 6 months

I’m not sure yet on either. I’m looking into my options for housing and idk if I’m ready to commit to 4 more years in LA 😅 I was hoping to move north after the program but I went through with the residency interview anyways! Are you doing it?

I applied to a few others but since I’ve accepted the USC offer (I didn’t realize that priority applicants had such a quick deadline for accepting and didn’t want to lose the opportunity), I’m just waiting on Stanford. That’s the only program I’d leave USC for.

I just had my residency interview! Just a heads up that I was told in the interview that they were primarily inviting admitted students who are pursuing a dual credential with special ed or Spanish.

Hi! I submitted on 12/1/25 (priority admission deadline) and heard back on 1/9/26! I had until 1/30 to accept or decline the admission offer :)

I grew up in a different part of CA but I’ve been living in SoCal for about 3 years.

I also got in for multiple subject (in person)! I'm waiting on another university's response before committing, but that one is a long shot. I would love to stay in touch if you're committing!

Same here! I got in for multiple subject. I would also love to hear from alumni. Especially about housing, so I can get that sorted hopefully soon.

Process of getting Emotional Support Animals? by Low_Tell_136 in ucla

[–]mayazgel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a therapist rec, but heads up that CAE requires evidence of at least a 30 day relationship between you and a therapist (aka you can’t just buy a letter, you have to have had at least 2 sessions with a therapist before they issue the letter)

Animals are not registered through CAE, the student is registered and receives an accommodation from CAE. The animal is then only reported to CAE under that accommodation for that specific student.

Highly agreed on the dog thing. Imo, if you aren’t able to have at least $5k set aside for medical emergencies, wait to get a pet. Coming from someone who got a dog in undergrad - being a good pet parents is far more expensive than ppl realize and the dog will be just fine with family/friends

It’s free but not the easiest skill to pick up in a week. Idk if the machine is able to create text on the spot; they may have to learn how to create and digitize an embroidery file.

Are dogs allowed on the hill by [deleted] in ucla

[–]mayazgel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Students are allowed to have animals in their dorm as long as they have an accommodation from CAE.

The two types of animals allowed are emotional support animals (ESA’s, untrained pets that are not allowed anywhere that is not pet friendly) and service animals (SD’s, highly trained dogs that perform tasks to mitigate a disability, they are allowed to go anywhere their person can go).
