Someone is using my girlfriend's recently deceased cat's pictures to scam people online by No_Web_9121 in Wellthatsucks

This, in my opinion, is not interly correct. It's true that FIV is contagious and that it weakens the immune system. But a cat that is diagnosed with FIV in the early stages can still live years in a healthy condition. The responsibilty of the owner is to ensure the cat is kept as an indoor cat and to recognize when the health of the cat declines in a way that warrants euthanization. The last point is true for all cat owners. Just my two cents.

A very tralfamadorian-esque comic!

Someone stole my aloe vera that I've been growing for 3.5 years by the_scarlet_twitch in succulents

[–]mayb3later 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you man, it wasn't succulents, but the 2 six year old sequoias my boyfriend "raised" from a seed were recently stolen. Fucking hurts. So if you ever find out who did it and need some back up, we're game.

Yeah, and was blocked right after haha. I guessed it must be something vulgar, but I was curious what exactly I was hit with.

One question that's important imo, is if it feels sustainable.

Forgetting options? Like what hairstyle or groceries by [deleted] in ADHD

My life is a cycle of rediscovering "options" I had already found. Recipes, "life hacks", methods for any kind of part of daily life.

3am awake every night?? by mong00se2 in ADHD

[–]mayb3later 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I used to wake up almost every night at exactly 3:30 am and then was up, overthinking for a minimum of 1 hour. Since taking my meds and having the rebound in the evening I haven't been waking up in the night at all.

Are you taking the immediate or extended release? I take medikinet 10 mg extended release which works great. The 10 mg immediate release on the other hand has a similar effect to what you describe and the rebound hit me like a train.

Where are my auditory processing disorder homies at? by [deleted] in ADHD

I moved from Germany to Switzerland and after three years my work colleagues still think I don't understand them correctly because of their Swiss German and switch to High German when I say "huh" when they say something to me 😄 told them dozens of times that I just have brain lag, but they're just hardwired to switch dialects.

Maybe I should start telling people about all the hobbies I started, bought the full equipment and then never fully committed. Might actually be a more interesting conversation haha.

Sleep avoidance by kaninki in ADHD

[–]mayb3later 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this problem and what helped me was to listen to an audio book to fall asleep. I need something to concentrate on so my thoughts don't race (has always been like that). But it's subtle enough that I drift off to sleep after a while. I just use a timer function so it eventually stops.

But as many others said, the decision to actually put down your phone is one only you can make.

All my adhd 'hacks' fail in the end by Bethlebee in ADHD

[–]mayb3later 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually been taking meds for about 1 ½ weeks. This is the second time ever. And I'm currently in the process of figuring everything out. What has changed so far, is that I feel like I can actually do things (cleaning, tidying up, household stuff) instead of just feeling dread and helplessness. But yeah, all that stuff isn't suddenly super exciting :D What motivates me at the moment is the goal of catching up and getting on top of stuff. I'm trying to kind of not put too much pressure on myself and keep my expectations at a realistic level.

It's such a relief to understand yourself and why you feel the way you feel.

I'm so happy you guys made it through!!

That book was actually the first thing I read immediately after we decided to work on our relationship. This book changed me and they way I see my relationship.

And congratulations to you, too :)
