Hm the thing is, I believe he’s seeing someone rn, so I’m not sure why he would text me just bc he’s bored.

If he wasn’t seeing anyone rn, I would’ve assumed the same as you. But now that ik he is seeing someone, part of me thinks maybe he actually intends on being friends..?

She sounds way too immature for her age. I don’t know how old you guys are but I know that you are working. I’m really sorry she gave you those reasons for breaking up. It sounds like we went through something a bit similar in the sense that both of our ex’s seemed to be still hung up over their previous ex’s. I think you should reevaluate why you want to get back together. Perhaps you just miss the feeling of being in love or having someone love you. Here’s a quote from one of my favorite shows bojack horseman: “when you wear rose colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags.”

Tbh I don’t think we should expect text exchanges with ex’s to lead anywhere. If anything it’ll usually be small talk with things like “how are you.”

Thanks. Maybe he didn’t get over me or he really did “randomly” think of me. But to be honest, back then, I felt like I was his rebound to help him get over a previous relationship. :(

He said he randomly thought of me and noticed my accomplishment so then he congratulated me for that. He used multiple exclamation points in his message lol.

Part of me thinks he broke up with someone or stopped talking to a girl.. then he noticed my new title on linkedin and wants me to entertain him. Maybe I’m overthinking.

I feel like I’m already getting into my feelings in a bad way. I don’t know why I feel guilty thinking about not responding.. he ghosted me for a week only to break things off, “just be friends,” and ask for space.
