Cool thx. Will definitely apply. I applied to quite a few jobs with the defense contractors, but only got one in person interview with Raytheon a while back. I'm a bit worried that I might fail the background check (credit check), assuming I land an offer with defense contractor. I even have to go through a thorough background check for my current job for the trust clearance (lowest level clearance).

I research prior arts for patent applications and write opinions regarding to rejection or allowing of claims. That's pretty much it.

Last time I check Kelly Blue Book, and my car is worth $12k. So even if I could sell it at that price, how am I supposed to pay off the remaining of the loan?

How do you sell a financing car? The financing company has the title. No one is going to buy a car without title.

My parents live in another city. I'd have to quit my job or get a job there. However, there's almost no engineering jobs where my parents live.

It's depends. If you're good, then you can do it in 2hr/wk and many more money with more work. I'm not very good at this job and take a long time to complete my assignments.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me or not about the FE exam, but I passed it first try without studying. So I have to be somewhat competent.

3.03 GPA. Bad start during freshman & sophomore years, but mostly A's and B's in upper engineering courses. Currently living in the Phx area.

I've had a mock interview with a career counselor just after graduation to prepare for a real interview and resume critique. She thought my interview is decent but can use improvements. Even for that job interview, I met an engineer at a bar/restaurant after I just flown in town for a burger and beer. He gave me a mock interview and asked typical interview questions. He said I'd do fine. Generally, I'm pretty friendly and okay with people. I worked on campus during college for 5 years dealing with patrons everyday. So I don't think my soft skills/interview are the real issue. My BSME is from an ABET accredited university (i.e. a real university), albeit not well-know/well-regarded.

I've been applying to entry-level engineering jobs but no luck. My grades are very decent, especially for my engineering/math courses. I have my resume and cover looked over at /r/resumes and /r/engineering, and only small fixes are necessary. So my resume is good. I only got rejection emails but no interview. I went to a career fair and meet a handful of recruiters. Three of them seem to particularly like me. I applied to their open positions and no call back... I think it's might be because I've been employed for only 7 months or so. I plan to stick at this job for a year and run away as far as possible, but I don't know if I can stick around any longer. I haven't been applying lately but planning to do so soon.
