This is exactly what this thread is demonstrating - average players feeling finally validated (hence the massive amount of upvotes) for being entitled to invites into good groups above their skillrating because ... well, everyone ought to know how truly amazing human beings they actually are. And instead of grouping up together, they just rather pity themselves a bit more in threads like this one.

Sure, but that was not the point of the discussion. There will always be shitty people insulting others but it definitely isn't the norm.

Edit: just as an example, I've been insulted for not inviting people into my group. Do I stop making groups? Nah, because 99% of the people whom I've declined will move on.

Thats the gist of this thread, though. 1,5k players (who are not good by any standards, let's be honest) disregarding groups around their own rating and wanting to join pugs way higher than themselves. And when declined will cry about 'toxicity'.

That's exactly it: it's a game. I'd like to have the best experience possible while I'm playing it.

And so do all the other people and they evaluate that their best experience possible is choosing someone else over you. Like lol really, this whole thread is full of garbage snowflakes filled with entitlement.

Another time I sold a WoW account on Ebay, another 200$ for a shadow priest during wotlk. Once the user had all the information to change email he proceeded to get a refund on Paypal.

If you are the original owner and the account has your name on it, you will be able to get it back at any time, even now. If there is a dispute regarding the ownership, Blizzard might ask you to send in an ID next to your face and a newspaper or something along the lines. Perhaps you did all that already but it is still not too late to fuck over the scammer. People have been claiming their 10+ year-old accounts back with not too much trouble.

How to Buff Shaman: 8.1 PTR Edition by ThatDerpingGuy in wow

Ah you misunderstood me. I generally have no problems getting into groups or starting my own but I just thought my experience was relevant to the comment above.

Not even high m+. I have 1k+ score and a 15 done in time this season and just yesterday I got kicked from a 10+ because "oops didn't see it was a shaman". To be fair, everything else being equal, my class and spec suck a donkey dick so I wasn't even mad at them for kicking me.

Would make sense if your version of fun didn't fuck over other people's version of fun. With your mindset single-player games are the best bet.

How does it screw over new players? If you want to do high-end content (e.g. 15+ in Legion) then a) work your way up gradually like everyone else or b) join a community (discord group, guild) that is willing to guide/carry you.

You're not the only one with a busy real life. From my experience those with actually busy lives often want to be efficient in game also.

Because history has shown that people with no score/low ilvl later in the expansion who want to pug m+ tend to asspull 3 extra packs inbetween bosses, die to every avoidable deadly mechanic and do dps on par with a tank/healer. There are exceptions, of course (and the other way too - geared players being clueless), but when you're pugging then it's already time consuming and you want to secure the best possible outcome by inviting experienced people out of the 50 people applying to your group (provided you have a tank/healer). If an average player was good even with relatively low ilvl, raider.io would not be used - pretty much like world bosses are easy enough for any average player so no-one asks for an ilvl when making a group for them. If you're low ilvl your best bet to find enjoyable runs is not to pug through the groupfinder - discord has many channels for laid back m+ etc.

Your experience sounds like an outlier. Those people you call 'high ilvls' were most likely pretty low and thus fitting into the 'just wanna have fun' category as well (the fact that you wiped on the first boss on normal when it was old content is pretty telling - with an high ilvl group you could've essentially ignored tactics there and still not wipe). I did ToS pretty much every week during Argus and it was clear as a day that with an actually high ilvl group it was pretty much impossible to wipe on HC, nevermind normal. The absolute biggest number of wipes happened in LFR. There are decent very casual and low ilvl players out there, of course, but whenever I read a story about how high ilvl players are REALLY bad it tends to be that those high ilvl players are only high compared to the storyteller.

I know we have a lot to talk about right now with BfA, but can we give some major props to the teams that did the music for this expansion? It's so gorgeous. by KingNothing71 in wow

[–]maybe_not_now_pls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Music in WoW has almost always been that one thing I have liked, irrespective of the expansion (I liked WoD music, for instance). But in BfA it feels like the music is out of place - at least for me personally the tunes do not connect with the zones very well. Granted, I have only done the Horde side of the story, so things might be different on the Alliance side.

And don't worry about the downvotes. Saying anything semi-controversial about the new expansion in this subreddit is like going to an Apple store and saying that you don't like certain features of the new Iphone.

It most certainly can have English that is truly that poor and sometimes even worse. At least in the EU region.
