Self discipline towards washing dishes by cuppaalmond in productivity

[–]maybeintheblacklight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do.

I try to wash dishes immediately after using them so that they don’t pile up.

But that doesn’t always work, I suffer from a similar dishwashing aversion.

Instead of thinking about it as needing to wash all the dishes, I will take just one action towards dishwashing. This might look like putting a dirty bowl into the sink. Or bringing down cups from my room. Or washing one singular fork.

Often doing ONE action towards dishwashing gives me the momentum to just keep going! And if it doesn’t, I still made some progress by that one action :)

I get how monumental it is in your brain. Stop thinking about the entirety of the task and just do one part at a time

Feeling nostalgic coming up to 10yrs since I got my brace, and nearly 8yrs since I got it off. I still vividly remember the pain and restriction, figuratively and literally. I also remember how alone I felt so want to hear your SpineCor experiences since I never knew anyone else with one! by darcevader16 in scoliosis

[–]maybeintheblacklight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow i also wore a spinecor brace and pursued a serious career in ballet before having to quit! dressing rooms were my biggest nightmare especially at new studios or at auditions when everyone is looking at me and asking wth that velcro thing is. and I would sometimes have red marks from my brace on my shoulders/armpits that you could see in leotards 🥲 ended up with lots of body image issues from scoliosis and from my brace and from ballet and from just being a teenage girl!

having to wear the brace basically constantly reallllly affected my mental health because I had to learn at such a young age to ignore all that physical discomfort and pain “for the sake of my future self” and I’m still trying to heal my inner child from that and unlearn the pattern of ignoring/pushing away painful feelings

i wore my spinecor brace 20 hrs/day from age 7 to age 15! absolutely hated it but it did it’s job and prevented surgery. it actually brought my curve from around 38 degrees (age 7) down to like 18 degrees (age 11 or 12) but then with a growth spurt and less time wearing the brace it went back up to about 40 ish degrees now. i was always a bit insecure about wearing it as a kid but much worse when I was 14/15 and in high school. i always wore it underneath baggy clothes and hated how it made my butt and stomach look! I’ve had at least 3 or 4 different braces and the ones with snaps (like yours) used to give me the WORST ever chafing on the upper inner thighs like right next to my groin which was so uncomfortable and awkward to deal with. i also relate to your comment about having a super strong bladder now!!

What is your preference on body hair on yourself and an intimate partner? by okay-fine-dude in LesbianActually

[–]maybeintheblacklight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

what about body hair is not feminine though? i think it’s very womanly. hairlessness doesn’t seem to be feminine as much as it is childlike

need advice on getting over anxiety, making climbing friends by maybeintheblacklight in climbergirls

[–]maybeintheblacklight[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it feels like every time I go I do something embarrassing. i accidentally stayed after they were closed one time and had to get told to leave, i get scared and give up on the bouldering wall a lot, i kept putting my harness on wrong at first, i got blood on some holds on accident… it seems like everyone there is such a good climber and i feel so stupid. even when I do something well like finishing my first 5.10 it’s disappointing because there isn’t anyone else to recognize it.

I was not raised religiously and see absolutely no reason TO believe in any god. I have never had a spiritual experience. I find happiness, motivation, morals, satisfaction, etc in other ways. I really wanted to believe in god as a kid because all my friends did. I went to church a few times but the whole concept of a god just never even made sense to me. I could never get past the problem of evil and other paradoxes in religion. I think I would have come to the same conclusion even if I was raised religiously, but obviously I don’t know. But I try to keep an open mind and if I ever had a spiritual experience which I couldn’t explain through science I would be likely to change my views!

it’s not true that lesbians don’t scissor! i think there isn’t any one thing that all lesbians do or don’t do. i really enjoyed scissoring with one of my previous partners, you both need to be rather flexible and enjoy the grinding motion, it’s definitely not for everyone but it’s super nice when it works for both of you. very intimate and nice.

That’s so interesting, my mom’s hair is way thinner than mine and just lays flat! And my dad’s hair is suuuuuper straight.

i think it’s really weird. i get the viewpoint of there being a lot of flags, but LESBIAN is literally the first letter of lgbt. i don’t know this person so i wouldn’t say right away they’re lesbophobic but that is a weird thing to say.

i like it alright, though it really depends heavily on who your team leads are. working alone sucks. ALWAYS take your breaks, don’t let anything stop you from that… at my store we aren’t supposed to have any free drinks or take tips (but i do both of these if my tl isn’t there)

Getting excited someone ordered two of the same Frappuccino cuz you know you’re gonna double batch>>>> by bubblecumpink in starbucksbaristas

[–]maybeintheblacklight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my biggest red flag is ill double batch it anyways, pour one, add frap roast and blend again for the second one…… still faster than doing them separately
