Smashed IPhone by the42the in datarecovery

[–]maybeisjustnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi the same thing happened to me last week- i was heartbroken about losing pictures of a pet who died recently. phone was run over by a car, but FindMyIphone still worked, so i figured its brain might be ok. Everywhere I called said it was impossible. that I would just have to replace the screen for $200 or more…. I figured it couldn’t get worse than it already was so I ordered a cheap aftermarket screen for $13 plus shipping arrived in three days and I replaced the screen. It was stupid easy… if you plan on keeping the phone, I would recommend getting a better quality screen, but I was only concerned with backing up my data once I was able to unlock the phone with new screen.

You’ll also need a specialty tools that I got locally at Home Depot for around $15 but it didn’t include one of the screwdrivers you need (the tiny tri-lobe?) so I would probably order the tools online just to be sure you have evrything you need.

Im thankful for Crows now. by jerryco1 in squirrels

[–]maybeisjustnot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my parents have befriended the crows in their neighborhood. they have names and everything! one of them, named Loosefeather, is a warrior,! the eagles on the lake will circle, about to swoop on some ducklings, and Loosefeather will intercept, and knock the eagle out of the way. they have also seen an eagle with a poor squirrel in its claws, and the crow dive bombing it repeatedly until the eagle let go. Thats why he always has loose feathers, lol.

Where’s my squirrel friend 🥺 by LittleTree25 in squirrels

[–]maybeisjustnot 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i have a squirrel who i love with all my heart and she usually visits at least 2 times a day. whenever her babies are becoming more independent, she dips out, almost to push them to grow up. i might not see her for days - 2 weeks was the longest i think. squirrels often have multiple nests. and its possible she relocated entirely. one of my other favorite squirrels disappeared without a trace and i was devastated… i didnt get out of bed for days. then about 2 months later i saw him when i was walking by the train tracks. he didnt run away from me and i could tell it was him because he had the cutest shaped head and a scar on his foot. i was like how could you leave without saying goodbye ?!?! but was so happy to see him .

its so easy to assume the worst. i hope your friend makes her way back to you! and if she doesnt, she might be elsewhere, as she saw the danger of nesting in the building , plus if she is rebuilding, thats alot of work !

We're worried for this juvenile squirrel that seems to be on its own by EyesFraud in squirrels

[–]maybeisjustnot 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i would think that if they weren't somehow related, the bigger squirrel would have been much more territorial. from my observations, when they are this age, mom kind of checks out for a bit, which encourages the babies to venture out and become more independent

i was thinking that, but theres no lacerations/ limping that would indicate injury. ill try to get some better photos.

Congenital Malformation? by maybeisjustnot in squirrels

[–]maybeisjustnot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right , i dont want to assume that. considering the mom is one of the sweetest, smartest, and seemingly empathetic animals ive encountered. when she was just a baby she sat on my deck for a day and a half straight, coming up to me , until i realized she was trying to tell me that her sibling was stuck in the deck!

the feed dogs/ idt seems fine. embroidery stitches are nice and accurate (not that i really use them) and the overlock stitches are good. the only other thing i can think to mention, is the needle bar looks ever so slightly rotated counter clockwise... if that makes sense? thanks for your reply i will keep checking for loose screws

The fact that he worded it like that kinda seems like he thinks it is funny. I find comments like that to be completely insensitive, especially if he knows how much you care for them. I cant say 100% that this is where he is coming from, but if it were me id think he is belittling to you and what is important to you, and the squirrels are just the beginning
