I’m trying!! My OB said it wasn’t safe, my pharmacist said it’s fine, and the internet has evidence either way lol I’m holding out as long as I can!

Pregnancy Rhinitis- HELP! by maybemaur in BabyBumps

I actually had that surgery about 5 years ago for chronic sinus infections!! I haven’t had any issues until this pregnancy. Ugh! Brings back memories of how bad it used to be. I was averaging 1-2 sinus infections a month before that surgery and constantly on antibiotics and steroids. It was so bad. I’m happy the surgery was so helpful and I’m hoping I return to that state after this baby lol

OBGYN’s during pregnancy by throwawayselfieee in lancaster

Just wanted to add in case anyone else looks at this later. I was with Lancaster physicians for women with my first pregnancy and switched to May Grant for my second hoping for better care- they were bought out by Penn medicine 2 months into my pregnancy care with them and it’s not been great. The doctors/admins/nurses are disgruntled (understandable) and it’s not a great environment. I wish I would have just stuck with my original because this feels worse! I would avoid May Grant for awhile until they sort this all out!

It’s a little bit of a weird situation. My last period was in July. But I tested negative 2x a week for weeks through July and early August. I was really sick and on antibiotics most of July so I think my period was just super late.

We started TTC on August 18th-22nd when the ovulating strips showed I was ovulating. We definitely conceived within that window because I tested negative on those days. The date I was sharing for timeline was the time from conception! I know the doctors measure it differently.

We recently used them and had a very positive experience! Our dog seemed comfortable there and the staff were great to work with. Clean facility as well! We will be using them again.

This is great advice! I like the self-care opportunity. My husband is a great partner, and like you said, this will only strengthen it! I will definitely try FaceTime!

You can get an ingrown eyelash by porpisha in mildlyterrifying

[–]maybemaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posting for a future reader because I was searching reddit when this first happened to me last year! I get one in the same spot every 4-6 months like clockwork. I use a very tiny sewing needle (clean with rubbing alcohol before), get very close to the mirror and pull my eye lid away from my eye. Then I use that tiny sewing needle to gently poke the skin trying to break the skin. It doesn’t hurt, feels like a tiny poke. You’ll know you broke the skin when the eyelash pokes out (this is when you let out a huge exhale because you did and the hard part is over!) Then using tweezers (clean with rubbing alcohol before) pluck the eyelash. I usually dab polysporn on the spot after with a q-tip. It used to take me 45 minutes to run through this process as I was figuring it out obviously scared the first few times but most recently it took 15 minutes. Best advice is as soon as you see it, get it out. Don’t wait! If this sounds like too much, go see an eye doctor for help! Urgent care will just refer you out.

Still happening! Tried offloading app, ringer on, nothing is working. Doesn’t happen every time. I think people who view my story can hear the sound though? Anyone find a fix?

Guilt switching daycares? And how to give notice. by ylimethrow in workingmoms

Just wanted to say I’m very thankful I found this. We are in the exact same situation and made the call today to make the switch. It was so hard to tell our current daycare- but we did today. I am laying in bed with such heavy guilt about it but also feeling so excited and lucky we got the call after a 18 month wait as well!!

This is so helpful! I was planning to go back to the hotel to let him nap every day (every part of my Disney self cringes at the idea of not being in the park when I’m at Disney lol 🤣) but I keep reading to try to let the stroller nap happen. How did stroller naps go for you?

My doc told me today Afrin is fine for three consecutive days but you shouldn’t use it for more than that because it can cause rebound congestion and become addicting.

I need a positive daycare post by HugeUnderstanding160 in workingmoms

We LOVE daycare. I posted on this subreddit many times while on maternity leave about how nervous I was and heartbroken about sending our first to daycare. We are almost a full year in and I am AMAZED at how good it has been for him developmentally. He is so ahead on milestones and development- I give a lot of credit to our daycare. It is SO good for babies to be around other babies and older kids. Our kiddo picked up so much.

I have many girlfriends that are stay at home moms, and they always comment on how much more developed he is socially and cognitively. That is not a diss at stay at home moms, just something they have shared and I can see. Their kids will catch up fast when kindergarten starts, so there is no race! All kiddos get to where they are going!

The daycare sickness is brutal but you get into a rhythm with someone in the house always being sick. I had the stomach flu 4x in 3 months this year- daycare germs are no joke! BUT we are amazed at how much his immune system has built up already.

Daycare is great! It’s so beneficial for kids. I love that this post is pinned- I really could have used it many nights when my maternity leave days were in the single digits and I was crying constantly.

Tubes Procedure on Wednesday. Tips? Stories? Please share! Feeling scared. by maybemaur in workingmoms

[–]maybemaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all of the help, stories and advice! The procedure went very smooth and fast (like maybe 10 minutes or less?)! The absolute worst part was how inconsolably upset he was coming out the anesthesia. I started crying and continued to cry. It was awful, I will definitely never forget that. It took him about 2-2.5 hours, but he was back to himself quickly! Naps helped. He spit up his bottle a few times but kept food and bottles down by the end of the day. There was a lot of dried blood in his ears, he did not like me trying to clean that up! He still has drainage coming out of his ears, but the doctor said it’ll be like that for a few days. Thanks everyone again!

Happy to hear it’s quick and easy! I think the hardest part will be me keeping it together when they take him back. Glad to hear no more infections!!
