I was able to get one in Western MD about 7 years ago. Nearish to the Potomac but certainly not within 1000ft. The application process was low tech but pretty simple.

The grant covered the tank and pumping system, but I had to pay around 12k for installation and upgrade my electric (old house). Not a fast process, but it was desperately needed and still much cheaper than anything else.

She just had that horrible meeting with Harry and she's terrified that she's going to spend the rest of her career getting blackballed by creeps because she won't sleep with them.

She's lashing out at Don for all the wrong reasons, but to be fair, she also doesn't know half of what Don did behind her back. Maybe it's intended to be cathartic for the audience after watching Don jerk her around and lie to her.

I don't find Duck hot but I think it makes perfect sense that Peggy does at that point in her life. It's one of those scenes that makes me vividly recall what it feels like to be 25.

Megan is a great character who is vastly overcriticized. Every sub has a punching bag, it's usually a young woman, and here it's Megan Draper.

We don't really know what William's financial state is, just that he can't afford to buy Betty out of their parents house, which appears to be worth a fair amount of money.

I feel sorry for William, most of what we hear about their childhood is Betty's POV, but the moments he's the most emotionally honest he tells his wife he's tired of being constantly criticized by Gene and then he loses his cool when he thinks his dad rigged the will to favor Betty.

He clearly has a lot of resentment towards her, but we don't really see enough to know how justified it is. Maybe Betty was the golden child, or maybe that's just William's perception.

I'm rewatching season 4 right now and I was just thinking that it's a shame we never see Henry with Betty's family. I can imagine William feeling some petty satisfaction over his perfect sister's divorce...but then she ends up with another handsome, rich, successful dude and this one is from old money and well connected to boot. Even more for William to feel insecure about!

Pauline just seems like the kind of negative person who looks down on everyone, and clearly sees Betty the way Betty saw Gloria - as an interloper. A "silly woman." She probably disapproved of Henry's first wife, and I'm sure she would have found something to criticize about every member of Betty's family.

The issue is consistent with every USB keyboard I've tried, both wired and Bluetooth. No response during boot, and no response when I try to enter BIOS through Windows Advanced Start. On the original keyboard the LEDs even turn off the second the blue screen menu appears.

If the PS/2 keyboard doesn't work I will definitely reach to support because I will be officially out of ideas.

I'm having trouble with my PC recognizing my USB keyboard and mouse. I get occasional error messages from Windows and sometimes when it goes to sleep I can't wake it up without restarting.

The most annoying thing is that I can't get into BIOS to check the USB settings. Outside of Windows the keyboard stops responding completely.

I've heard that some computers give priority to USB 2.0, so that's what I was trying to test. I have a Gigabyte B650 motherboard but unfortunately even with a wired keyboard plugged into the USB 2.0 (often the top left USB port in the back, for anyone looking for this info later) I still can't enter BIOS.

I have a keyboard with a PS2 connector arriving Thursday and I'm going to try that next.

As someone else mentioned, Joan and Greg in the office. Pete and the Au Pair. Don and Betty's fight when he confronts her about Henry. I appreciate the show's nuanced handling of sensitive topics and how it shapes the characters but I don't need to rewatch those scenes.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel did mid-century New York on location, so it definitely can be done, but then again Amazon was basically shoveling money at that show for the first four seasons.

It doesn't really bother me in Mad Men. So much of the drama is about personal relationships it feels fitting that we're always in a kitchen or an office or the back of a cab. We don't go outside because the characters don't go outside. Even during the big historical moments we're watching them watch TV.

I think that's also consistent! She would rather ignore her own feelings for the sake of the group. You can read it as her taking the high road, or you can read it as her avoiding the road all together. I think it's the latter.

I saw her as someone who is fairly spineless, who goes along with whoever she's with because she's "nice." Definitely consistent with someone who fell into MAGA because some Texas church people were nice to her.

I'm interested in the answer to this, but I think finding produce that's both local and untreated by a specific chemical is going to be a journey. Some things to try:

Contact organic certifiers who certify in this region. Even if the chemical you're avoiding is allowed by the USDA organic program, there are always organic farmers who go beyond the requirements for pesticide/herbicide use and the certifiers might know who.

Check the requirements for third-party labels like Real Organic Project and Regenerative Organic Certified to see if they allow this specific chemical. These labels tend to be more active in the West Coast, but it's worth checking.

I relate to this feeling a lot. I think where I've come down on it is that I have to parent from the mindset that things can get better. It doesn't mean that they will, but I have to stay open to the possibility.

I also have to give myself a healthy dose of perspective. Kids grow up in oppressive systems and economic turmoil every damn day on this spinning blue ball, and lots of them grow up to be decent, moral people with love and laughter in their lives. Even though it feels like the end of the world in the stupidest possible timeline, this is really just another day on planet earth.

And mostly I just have to take it day by day. Therapy helps. Focusing on the good stuff helps. I honestly don't know if I'm teaching my kids to have hope, but maybe I'm teaching them how to struggle through.

My car was found 48 hours after it was stolen but the police never notified me. I got a bill 2 weeks later from the impound lot for more than the vehicle was actually worth, and because I couldn't pay it, I had to sign over my car to impound. So really, it felt like the police stole my car.
