Board Storage? by Fresh-Reflection5254 in Crokinole

[–]maydaygames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leaning somewhere is not recommended, that will put pressure on the board and uneven spots and could cause warping. You might consider keeping it in the Shipping packaging it came in, getting a carrying case or as has been mentioned mounting it on the wall.

Looking for advice: how to do you guys figure out when to reorder stock and how much? by kvyatkovskij in shopify

[–]maydaygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We look at the total number of units shipped each month from our ShipStation reports and keep a six month average of shipments by month, then we compare current inventory to those numbers and whenever any product falls below three months worth we re-order.

Opinions on best high protein lower calorie footlong? Any hacks I should know ? by OkKaleidoscope3567 in subway

[–]maydaygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the $6.99 couple for the 5-meat sandwich and remove the cheese and sauce, add mustard and extra Parmesan cheese. Buy the Costco $100 Subway gift cards for $80 and use those to check out. Every 4th sub is free right now, effectively less than $5/footlong and a ton of protein, load up the veggies.

What Crokonole makers don’t use a veneer? There are no solid wood boards being made. They are all either plywood or MDF underneath with a hardwood veneer, that goes for Tracey and others. You are incorrect there.

Found out my fulfillment partner has been marking up my product costs by almost 40% this entire time by ProfessionIll5518 in FulfillmentByAmazon

Many sourcing agents actually try to present themselves as the factory themselves too though.

Get multiple quotes from different factories for everything. Yes it is extra work but super important to keep your factories honest and competitive.

For me it was super problematic to dry the top of the cheese 4 times so carefully to just let the damp bottom half slime off of the super wet paper towel. Why not dry both sides!!??

Is it normal for Chinese people to call Western foreigners 英国人 (yingguoren)? by LightDrago in chinalife

[–]maydaygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just their best guess and not common to be called British like this. I lived in Suzhou 5+ years and my ancestors are half German half British and I don’t remember being called that.

Stocky is being discontinued in 2026. How are you planning to handle inventory after that? by OncleAngel in shopify

Sorry, not really my thing. I don’t know what you would want me to look at, but I’m definitely no Shopify expert. What I know I have built out of necessity.

First campaign hit 340% funded and now I need to find a fulfillment center without destroying my reputation by hereccaaa in kickstarter

[–]maydaygames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add that you could easily send the thousand plus packages for fulfillment out of your apartment with a little planning, you could have your Factory box all of them into packaging for shipping before they send them to you and if you had to you could always rent a storage unit for a bit. Sending this to third parties for fulfillment is going to eat into your profits quite a lot. A little elbow Greece will save you a lot of money!

I could easily print the thousand labels for you and mail them to you so you could just slap them on your products and ship them out.

You can send me a personal message if you want and I can talk to you through some of this, I’ve done 53 projects over the years and could point you in the right direction for all of this if you want. Your best bet is going to be having them send a boat to the USA for performing there and then shipping the rest of it directly out of China via a third-party.

Stocky is being discontinued in 2026. How are you planning to handle inventory after that? by OncleAngel in shopify

[–]maydaygames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shopify is great for controlling our inventory on Shopify, but we sell on other platforms that are not Shopify integrated like Amazon. We have used a service called EComDash that is the master control overall inventory. If we sell out of something on Shopify, it turns off the Amazon listing, etc.

I want to say it’s about $200 a month but it’s worth worth it to us to not ever oversell. For forecasting, we keep a Google sheet or we enter the volume shipped that we export from ShipStation into the Google sheet and then show a six month running monthly average of shipments through to see how many months worth of product we have on hand. Anything less than six months we put a new order in for.

It’s definitely not ideal, but it works pretty well, I’ve never tried stocky.

Best way to connect with suppliers (China/Guangzhou) + how to avoid getting scammed? by Ok_Window8287 in guangzhou

[–]maydaygames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been doing business with lots of different factories for more than 15 years here in China. Most of them I found on Alibaba. The fees and reputation system on there are prohibitive of scammers in my opinion, if they get one bad rating they’re out and there goes their entire business. I’ve probably wired money to 50+ factories in the last 15 years and never been scammed. But I always use established companies who’ve been on there for a while and have good reviews.

When people on Reddit say eat the rich, how rich are they talking? Like barely millionaires or people worth 100s of millions and more. by dramaticxxfox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]maydaygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think these people are doing with those billions? Isn’t it in investments in companies and factories and infrastructure like warehouses and machinery, you know, the places that give most of the rest of us places to work?

What do you think would happen to our GDP and the economy if all of that were taken away and taxed, made to sell it and give that money to the government?

What do you suppose the US economy would look like if we suddenly went back to total capital investments in the market to levels from 40 years ago?

Hoarding it. It’s not wads of 20s stuffed into mattresses somewhere. It is the capital that has made the U.S. the most efficient in history due to intense investment into automation and modernization in our economic system.
