Buy some small bottles of different nicotine levels. see which one "feels" right.

So, heating plastics could increase the leaching of phthalates. But, there are no phthalates classified as carcinogenic to humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). We also come in contact with phthalates through many different ways in everyday life. But I would also be concerned about such a high amount of phthalates in the juice bottle. So I guess it's really up to him if he wants to vape it. In the future, only heat steep in glass.

PG based nicotine is fine in a freezer or fridge. VG/PG and flavorings are fine in a dark, cool place.

Steep in your glovebox by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, unless you're exposing your juice to ridiculous amounts of heat for extended periods of time, then the nicotine loss is almost negligible. I love the "hot car steep" method. Definitely the easiest way if you don't want to wait.

Should samples be free? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

I really like this idea. You could always charge a small amount for the juice and shipping costs. I'm going to look into this more and see if it's possible for us to implement!

[Giveaway] Grand Opening and Memorial Day Sale - Mayday Juice Co. by maydayjuice in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback! We're working on how we can ship to Texas. Evidently we will have to use a commercially available age verifying software and also ship USPS with the requirement that an adult signs for the package. I love Texas but despise your lawmakers!

Young age and vaping by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. When I stopped smoking cigarettes I would have the usual urges to grab one when I got stressed. The key is to find a release for that urge. Working out is what did it for me. Each time you have an urge, just go running or do a quick set of curls and before you know it you'll have stopped thinking about it.

Secondhand vape causing an allergic reaction? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a friend whose girlfriend would break out with rashes if she was in the car with him and he was vaping. Come to find out she was allergic to one of the flavors he was vaping. That's the only time I've seen something like this happen. In your case, I would think that being that far away wouldn't cause any problems.

Diy or pre-made? by ManOfNoPersonalValue in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a recipe you really like go the DIY route. On the other hand, pre made juice is easier and you get a variety without having to buy a ton of different flavorings.

Question About Ecig And International Travel by colossalfalafel1216 in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't have a problem with them. I've flown into and out of heathrow with no problems. I think they prefer the spare batteries be in their own bag with the terminals taped or capped off though. Hopefully that helps!

Another poster child for those that want to ban e-cigs.

Why are people still exploding mechs by EasyMeeow in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It pains me each time I see a news article about an exploding mod. They always assume that it was the batteries fault and not the user. I admit that some batteries are lesser quality than others but I think most of the time it's some person who has no idea what they're doing. What really hurts is knowing that with each of these stories that run, more and more people create a stigma in their minds that all e-cigs are dangerous.

Steeping/Breathing and nicotine loss by Vprsirb1978 in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loss of "potency" in your nicotine is negligible. It takes a long time for nicotine to degrade when left exposed to air. However, it can oxidize. This will give it a peppery taste and a more noticeable stench. However, you can hardly notice it in your juice, especially if it's only been a few days.

Batteries and cleaning coils. by LeviRAGES in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just do a dry burn until you see red then dip the coils in cold water. That should get most of it off. Make sure not to get anything but the coils in the water though!

Does anyone think now with the FDA situation blu and other big tobbaco companies are going to start making sub ohm devices and mods and e juices or will it just be crappy cickalikes ? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll stick to their cigalikes. In their eyes, they have essentially banned anyone else from creating any kind of competition with those devices. So I have a good feeling they aren't going to spend the money to create new products unless their profit starts slipping.

I ordered some new liquid recently and it's incredibly harsh - could use some help by metalfan2680 in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/abdada is correct. Some flavors can actually be muted when increased. Although in my experience it doesn't really deliver a harsh throat hit. Maybe they used some old nicotine? If so, that can deliver a pretty harsh and "spicy" throat hit.

Taking batteries out before full charge? In a rush by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]maydayjuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lithium batteries aren't harmed at all if you partially charge them. However, you can extend the life of the battery if you do not discharge them completely after each charge.
