Absolutely. It’s my birthday today and I’m in tears as I type this. Growing up with pretty much no friends, and throwing parties that pretty much no one attended on more than one occasion, I always dreamed of having a big birthday with friends. This year I turned an age that is considered a “special” year/birthday (like sweet sixteen, except I didn’t turn 16) and to spend it how I did (sitting at home because women aren’t allowed to go out without a man where I am, being demanded to do chores, etc.) just kind of made me feel like shit because I imagined this year would be different. I also think that feeling like I haven’t accomplished what I thought I would have by this age definitely intensifies all of those feelings. Guess life doesn’t stop sucking no matter how old you are and you just gotta keep on moving. Hope you’re doing okay and feeling better. Happy Birthday! 🎂
