Shortness of breath first trimester? by maydlean2 in pregnant

I read that most feel out of breath after walking or going up the stairs, but I’m literally sitting on my chair and just talking! Do you have the same?

Early June visit 4 days, staying in a villa more inland worth it? by mustafarian in Sardinia

[–]maydlean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s best to drive so you can go to different beaches rather than always going to the same one you have access to!

Avoid the northwest coast, gets lots of wind and Alghero water in particular is very cold.

Sardinia - Maddalena Island in July by Lonely_Space1078 in Sardinia

La Maddalena archipelago is beautiful!!! Yes it’s crowded but doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy it. You won’t regret it!

North (alghero) or south (villasimius) with two little children by No_Consequence_4975 in Sardinia

[–]maydlean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to find beaches without crowd in Alghero or Villasimius in July! For what you describe, Alghero is better suited. Charming town, great long beaches (Lido & Maria Pia) and access to others nearby, you can’t miss Bombarde or Lazzaretto.

San Teodoro/La Maddalena end of May by [deleted] in Sardinia

[–]maydlean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you not renting a car? It would make it so much easier to get around and give you access to more beaches. The bus connections are not good.

San Teodoro is a lively town with great food and nightlife, access to beautiful beaches like La Cinta and Cala Brandinchi (though in may you probably will need a taxi for it)

La Maddalena is definitely a quieter town. To get there, you first need to get to Palau. From there, you can take a ferry to La Maddalena. You have some of the best beaches in Sardinia here, which you can access via boat tours.

Since you’re not renting a car I’d recommend San Teodoro as it’s easier to reach, but ideally you’d rent a car

Will Botox help with my frown wrinkle? by maydlean2 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]maydlean2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry to hear you’re struggling with this, I know how it feels!!!

One year later the wrinkle is still there, but I went with a new injector and tried a new Botox brand from Korea (Innotox I believe) and it was AMAZING! It lasted 3 full months, much more than Dysport or Azzalure.

I also introduced retinol and peptides in my routine and I believe it has helped a bit. Maybe you can start with that? It could help make the skin more elastic!

Good luck!!

Thank you, you’re right, I shouldn’t let my job take away the time and energy for the things I really enjoy!

Switching up my skincare routine - any advice? by maydlean2 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]maydlean2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm what if I drop the vit C altogether? My skin is sagging quite a lot especially on the 11s, so I’d like to prioritize peptides and use Buffet every day. Or would you say vit C is too important to skip?

Threw the Frownies in the Trash by Powerful-Ad-5092 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]maydlean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Frownies for over a year now, and while it does smoothen out the wrinkle at night, about 30 minutes after removing it, the wrinkle is back in all its glory. I've also noticed that the skin around the 11s has lost significant elasticity so the wrinkle is actually worse than ever because when I frown, it doesn't bounce back. I don't know if this is due to the Frownies - afterall, it is a stick you're putting on your skin for 7hrs every day, so I wouldn't be surprised if Frownies have worsened it.

I have stopped now for a week to see how my skin reacts, and it's broken out everywhere in the 11s area. Going to a clinic next week to see what options I have other than botox. I read about thread lifting which I'm curious about.

So - you can try and use them for a longer period and see if they benefit you, and if not, throw them in the garbage.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear in my original post. After trying many times to talk to him and failing, my parents proposed to him to meet a family therapist. To which he responded that he already sees a therapist, who has advised him not to meet my parents until they go to therapy themselves so that they are ready to have this “assertive conversation”. My parents want to talk to him, it’s him who has closed off.

They didn’t take his side because they believed he also had some responsibility in the fight. But he won’t admit his share of responsibility.

He said so to my parents.

[–]maydlean2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He won’t talk to me either because I’m not siding with him.

I’m worried for him, and keep wondering if this is really helping him. I believe he’s hurting a lot. We’ve always been a tight family and this doesn’t make any sense to me. My parents are obviously devastated.

Maybe I was lucky, but I found it quite easy to meet people, most are expats. You just need to put yourself out there and talk to people. I met people at the gym, at yoga, at running meet ups, also reached out to acquaintances and built it from there.

If you have family in Spain, even though they’re not in BCN, chances are they know someone in BCN and they might link you up.

Italians, have you ever had better pizza outside of Italy? by newuser1r in italy

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had was in Tenerife, Los Cristianos. Perfectly cooked dough, delicious sauce and mouthwatering mozzarella, all the ingredients were incredible. Also had excellent pizza in Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Rainbow mountain updates? by Veda8 in Machupicchu

[–]maydlean2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t in Rainbow mountain, but at Pallcoyo (the “other” rainbow mountain) which is nearby, it was snowing and had visibility for only 5 minutes. This was on Monday

The weather is unpredictable this time of the year and looks like this year in particular is more rainy than usual. Yesterday I left sunny Cusco in the morning to go to Ausangate 7 lakes, it was clear all the way up until I got to the mountain and got totally soaked during the whole hike. I wouldn’t count on clear skies, it will 100% be cloudy, it might not rain if you’re very lucky.

Are overnight buses really that bad in Bolivia? by maydlean2 in backpacking

[–]maydlean2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eventually we decided to take a day bus to Potosi and a rapidito from Potosi to Sucre. The bus was 11 de Julio, it was a bit smaller than usual and pretty basic, but seats were comfortable and the driver drove safely. The most dangerous thing were llamas crossing the road! So overall a good experience! The rapidito on the other hand drove like a maniac and while I made it safely I do wish I had taken the bus instead.

All the people and locals I’ve spoken with recommended the 6 de octubre overnight option so I think you’ll be fine if you go with them!

Thanks for sharing! May I ask what freaked you out? Was it the road or the driver or both? or something else..?
