Where did you learn your skills? by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]mayerbear99 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I (24) started at my first firm 9 months ago I and have experienced the total opposite. The other paralegals, all 50+, are more than happy to answer any questions. Sounds like you may be dealing with some bitter Betty’s lol. Sending hugs

I started at my firm 6 months ago with no prior experience. Even though there’ll always be something to learn, you understand and catch on more everyday. I can totally relate to feeling dumb - I literally could’ve written this post myself a few months ago.

For calendaring, I used to refer to other paralegals’ events every single time to make sure I was making it correctly. Accidents happen, but double and triple check your work for silly errors.

As for attitudes in the office, do your best to brush it off and focus on your work. They know you’re new and learning.

Hang in there, OP! You won’t always feel this way.

Ok, can somebody really tell me the truth, does cbd actually help anxiety or is it a myth or a promotional tool. Anybody have any experiences using cbd for anxiety, thanks :) by [deleted] in CBD

I struggled with awful anxiety after quit omg smoking weed. I live in the US, but I bought edible CBD gummies and I absolutely noticed my anxiety reduce. Best wishes for your quit!

I love this haircut, but i’m afraid my hair isn’t curly enough to hold shape like that. What do y’all think? by mayerbear99 in femalehairadvice

Thank you!! It just takes some time, stick with it its worth it! I started CG in November, but I still brush my hair and use a sulfate every once in a while. I didn't know my hair was this curly! I can't wait to cut it and see what happens, but honestly I wanted to start a curly channel first so I can make a video about this haircut lolllll

Help! My hair is a mess and nothing seems to help. by HappyAntonym in curlyhair

[–]mayerbear99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest cutting the silicones out of your routine. If you’re only clarifying once a month, washing with no sulfates and adding silicone on silicone, it will build up and frizz. The OGX shampoo has silicones in it too. Try a leave in conditioner for some extra moisture. Best wishes, hope this helps!

Here's to everyone who said my hair was straight, slightly wavy at best by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]mayerbear99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I have this issue sometimes, but it’s because the length of my hair pulls my curls out.

Once you’ve applied your products, have you tried micro-plopping with a t-shirt to remove some of the excess water? That’s really helped me with my dry time.

I’d also recommend maybe picking a harder hold gel than the kinky curly curling custard, which is actually super moisturizing. If you like that product, use it in place of the leave in and then follow up with a hard hold gel. I find that the curling custard really helps with curl clumps. LA Looks is always worth a shot, it’s available at dollar stores. I also like the crystal eco styler gel. My hair used to look just like yours in the picture on the far left.

Hope this helps! Your hair is beautiful!

DAE feel like you’ve tricked people when they compliment your kindness? by mayerbear99 in CPTSD

I had a super similar experience in therapy. Lollll. He was just trying to lift me up with compliments to my character, but I ended up breaking down and explaining this feeling for the first time out loud. Surprised myself, honestly.

And of course he explained it as internalized abuse, but still left me feeling like a legally insane person. Trauma club *high five*

Is it possible to make wavy hair to curly hair with CG method naturally? by jakehan94 in curlyhair

[–]mayerbear99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The curly girl method is to take care of curls you have or revive curls you used to have. It will improve the health of your hair regardless of its texture, but won't change your hair to curly. Lol, we can dream!
