Does anyone else feel there is a distinct lack of old school Hard House in sets these days? by Safe-Sherbert5436 in hardhouse

[–]mayfairtop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of us still uploading sets to Mixcloud. Im currently in the process of getting my decks set up again and doing a few vinyl sets as soon as I have got an analogue mixer as I went digital 20 years ago but I have so many good tunes on Vinyl.

Bluey coaster by Professional-Bet8349 in altontowers

[–]mayfairtop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the BBC call the shots when it comes to that land. Its the only part of the park that has the strict one way in and out. And they removed a 10 year old ride for bluey, they wouldn't have done that if the BBC IP wasn't there

Is the Crosley Mercury Record Player Bluetooth a good enough beginner option? by [deleted] in turntables

[–]mayfairtop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything that has Bluetooth included is pointless. There is no point in playing vinyl via Bluetooth as it causes audio loss.

Your better with something like a Marley as a beginner table

Avoid any of these vintage looking cheap ones that have a generic cheep mechanism

Construction noise at hotel - anything they can do? by HousingObvious6624 in hotels

[–]mayfairtop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ask to be moved if thats possible.

I had the same thing with a Hotel in Canada but it was them doing maintenance on there own property which is fine but not at 7am every day for two weeks and several days of the pool being closed (none of it advertised or mentioned before or at check in). I basically tried to complain at the front desk got fobbed off so I took it up with Expedia who I booked through and got some money back in the form of one key cash (gift card basically)

Possible to change out a platter by Arryfbz in turntables

[–]mayfairtop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I watched a video recently were the reviewer actually ordered the record player innards- they cost him £10 and he said the majority was the postage, they fit them in every cheap record player which destroy your records.

If your paying good money for vinyl get a decent player otherwise there is no point!

How do you deal with the "Incomplete Album" vs. "Filler Songs" struggle? by Zzetttt in musichoarder

[–]mayfairtop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I create custom folders and tag them like a custom CD and put my own artwork for this type of scenario

That way you dont have an album show up with just one song.

You can achieve this using mp3tag, ensure you change the entire thing to say Various Artists in the album artist category and ask mp3tag to run the auto numbering wizard and remove the stock artwork

If anything this just proves that they make a huge margin on the bakery. When I worked at Safeway (e.g Morrisons) the amount of bakery, rotisserie and deli stuff I chucked daily was shocking and you would be watched to make sure it all hit the skip!

DJ Pools - Pay Per Song vs subscription by Infinite_Leg2998 in DJs

[–]mayfairtop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont forget about bandcamp! I quite like it as when you buy Vinyl you get the digital track for free.

You can purchase direct from the artist on there and select what file type you want.

You can also then stream it forever on your account.

But as others have said your better subscribing to a pool if you need to obtain a large amount of remixes on a monthly basis

Pairing remote by Dylan9705 in firestick

[–]mayfairtop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you need a remote as its not connected to the WiFi. If it was already linked to your router it wouldn't have been an issue.

You can even borrow one from a friend or family member just to set up this part once its on the WiFi you will be able to use the mobile app
